Living Things Early Fan Reviews - Warner Mexico Listening Party

Recently several fans in Mexico won the opportunity to enjoy an early Pre-Listening of LIVING THINGS in Warner Music Mexico. Both fans have posted ther reviews, and below are both reviews:

Maxxor222:

LIVING THINGS is a really new experience for Linkin Park, and I can say it's better than ATS. It's like a journey of LP's entire discography, with lots of different music styles.
You really can dig deeper on all the songs and they'll make you sing them instantly.

1. LOST IN ECHO: One of the most rocking songs on the album, with cool guitars and good distortion. The power of Chester's vocals are on full display here, and Mike's Rap is great. I cannot stop thinking of this song, Mike's voice sounds so different here but still very cool.
2. IN MY REMAINS: It's an awesome song, you can really hear Mr. Hahn's greatness on this track. Electronic rap/rock.
3. BURN IT DOWN: You Have listened it xD
4. LIES GREED MISERY: AAAWEESOMEEE xDD
5. I'LL BE GONE: Cool and peaceful, you can say anything about LP music, but this song's lyrics have a lot of things to say to you.
6. CASTLE OF GLASS: Damn! Drums are very cool! Rob sounds very cool on this track, and so do the Guitars. This is another rockin' song
7. VICTIMIZED: Here we go! The middle of Living Things and the return of heavy rock. An explosion! Heavy drums, riffs and guitars everywhere!!! This song is so special on the album, like the previews, this song is the Hardest in the album, there's a point when they Stop like BOOM! And then a revolution begins! For being a less than 2min song, it's AWESOME.
8. ROADS UNTRAVELED: I can call it: In Between 2. Mike sings the whole song, giving it a soothing feel. It has a soft rhythm and you will like it. Great Lyrics BTW.
9. SKIN TO BONE: I really don't remember so much of this song but it's similar to In Pieces.
10. UNTIL IT BREAKS: YEAH! Mike's Rap is awesome again, It's like Lies greed Misery, but with another soft touch, and sweet lyrics. Chester's chorus reminds me of With You.
11. TINFOIL: Fallout... Session... Sounding like a combination of both songs, this prepares you for the end of the CD.
12. POWERLESS: The end is here, you don't want to get in this point of an album, so Linkin Park makes you love LIVING THINGS until the end. Reminds me Numb. The Tinfoil intro makes this song truly special. It has a special Joe Hahn touch, cool lyrics, some Guitar riffs and The chorus is cool. In some parts it combines with Tinfoil making it a perfect combination. An Awesome end for an Awesome Album.

Really you have to buy this CD, Linkin Park is evolving, and this is a perfect time to be following their evolution.

Today, I was @ Warner Music México for the LIVING THINGS listening party!

The album is pretty amazing... but 'Victimized' is THE SHIT! I can't even figure if it's Mike or Chester doing distorted vocals in the very beginning! Sounds like a 'Death Grips" track but with balls. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnsI67bHpmk

Can't remember pretty the song title, but I guess it was 'Roads Untraveled'. The song is very catchy, but Chester sings a verse kind of like The Kinks' track "House of the Rising Sun"... same words, same melody... very folky. Reminds me 'Shadow of the Day / With or Without you" thing.

Tinfoil merge into Powerless.
Mike Shinoda is improving his vocal skills and making new experimental sounds with his voice. They are using a filter to distort their vocal range to do it even deeper.

Roads Untraveled + Skin to Bone are a new anthems. It's Chester and Mike singing together an entire song for the very first time!

LIVING THINGS is really like Hybrid Theory. A journey through all LP's discography.
Mexico's presale starts Tuesday. We'll get a limited edition poster as a gift.

Awesome review Maxxor, that review got me pumped! I am so ready to hear what could very easily be LP's best album!

Need a fucking listening party right now. The one we had for ATS was on September 14th, really? God.

Also, in the first review he mixed Roads Untraveled with Until It Breaks, UIB is the one with "Strength of the rising Sun" as lyrics.

I edited my post above with the correction. I'm guessing the track with vocals from both is Skin to Bone, since it has been described as a "camp-fire" song.

The other one i think is saing Skin to Bone is Mike and Chester. It's just saying Roads Untraveled is an anthem

Wow, this reviews are great, finally somebody who explains the album with words I can understand. The critics I've read so far were to specific, and I dont know much about making music and names of the sounds or the equipment they use and stuff. But they were very clear. Thanks!
And it makes me happy all they had to say, because it sounds like, LP is going to make my days better, (they always do) but specially when Maxxor222 says, and I qoute ". I'LL BE GONE: Cool and peaceful, you can say anything about LP music, but this song's lyrics have a lot of things to say to you" ,right there, those songs that "talk" to us, are the ones that I love the most and,I know is got nothing to do with this post, but I have to say it, the concert of today made A LOT better my day, so I've no doubt that this album will be great.
These guys always are great, one way or another.

By re-reading this, it seems like Maxxor222 missed out Castles Of Glass with I'll Be Gone, is it possible?

The reviews we got so far said I'll Be Gone was a rocking song with big drums, and that Crystal Of Glass was moody/has an eerie feel.

Maxxor222 is saying the exact opposite
