How has music you listen to affected your life.

I don't think it has influenced my life too much but I love to listen for hours on end. It has made me happy and I'm never lonely when I'm alone listening to music. It gives me feelings even love can't give me (not that much love has come around) I feel a deep ache when I'm lovin the music.

Saying it influenced my life would be false, but saying it motivated me would be right :D .

I can honestly say music has kept me going. It gave me the fantasies that go throughout my mind. Without them, I would of gone crazy and killed myself or hurt another. Music helped me through my times of trouble. Music still does. It takes away the stress. It takes away "bad" thoughts. Music has influenced me in the most positive way.

Music has helped my stay alive.

It has also helped me to be myself, which I never knew was a weird/freaky/scary/punk person!

But it has helped me soooo much.

It helps me be occupied during my free time. And feel different from my classmates listening to Greek and pop music all day.

I listen to music during my sleep, during school, during my time on the computer, every hour of every day, there's got to be music playing. If not, I'm lost. Nirvana, Linkin Park, and KoRn are the most helpful bands to me to relieve my own stress. They've influenced me to move on. :D

I wouldn't say that music has influenced my life, but it helps me get by. If it wasn't for music, I'd never be doing my homework because I just can't stand the silence. I almost always have music on. And I couldn't imagine spending 30 seconds in my car without music blasting out the speakers, it would be horrible.

Ditto. I take my music with me everywhere I go. The stuff I listened to hasn't changed my life but it's helped me a lot, when I'm stressed or feeling angry, it calms me down. I can't stand a minute without music.

    Well..

I'm not gonna say that [place band here] influenced me, but like others have said motivate. I'm in love with music. And when I hear something like "My Immortal" by Eva (sorry its on fuse at the moment) it just gives me this feeling. Nothing could ever give me that. Music is my life, I make music, I listen to music, I just love music. I'm obsessed. Now don't think I don't have a life, I will be walking around town with my friends listening to my walkman, and they will have to repeat everything they said. Now there are some songs that help me through times, just because I like the sound and it gets my mind off whatever that problem was. Like when me and my ex (I love her, but right now were broke up - best friends) are in a fight, I hate it. And everytime we are, I listen to Heavens A Lie by Lacuna Coil...I dunno why but it makes me happy. I have certain songs for certain times.

Just because you listen to music all day doesn't mean you don't have a life. It just means that music makes up a large portion of it. I don't make music, I have no rhythym, I just listen to it. All-day.

Music does make up a big part of my life. It definately inspires me, motivates me, and stuff...I'm probably not obsessed with it. I mean, when I'm with friends I usually don't listen to music, unless its the radio. I save stuff like Dream Theater and complex listens for when I listen by myself when I'm at home. I'm like that, I like to be with friends, but I still like my space, to chill out with myself once in a while :D

I have to say though my life would be a lot less exciting if music wasn't there B)

I think that I can partially agree. I mean I listen to music any chance. In the car, during some classes at school, anywhere pratically. I listen to LP, Rap, Rock, Hiphop, Trance and Techno. Anything that gets me going. I listen to music while doing homework, it helps makes the time go by faster. I even listen to my CD player, Minidisc player and the radio or the mp3's on my computers.

Music definetly has influenced and inspired me as a person. Not one band, specifically, but a combination of everything I listen to. I listen to music almost all the time. I have my headphones on whenever we drive somewhere, I listen to it when I'm on the computer, before I got to sleep. Like Lorn said, it gives you stories to play in your head. I spemd the majority of my time alone, and without something like music I think I'd go crazy with bordom.

Music has also made me a lot more open minded. You know when you're a little kid and you see someone who looks "weird" or even kind of imposing, with tattoos or piercings? You automatically are a little afraid of that person. When you get older, it'd be nice to think that those sterotypes would go away, but for a lot of people I don't think they do. But then when you start to get into bands like Rancid or AFI or even LP back when Chester used to dress up, those mental walls start to break down.

    music has:

motivated me: one of my friends told me to listen to a song (the carebears countdown) and it just had this impact that in my mind, i was like, "i am not going to live a lie anymore, i am going to act like myself from now on" thats what i call a good motivator.

    helps me: keeps me alive.period.

inspires me: to write myself, to do my homework, whatever.

im lazy to type, but also what Lour said.
