It's still spam I think. I'm just trying to help you people not get a warning, not be a pain in your ass. If you put a link in a "Click Here" type of thing, it wouldn't be considered spam I don't believe. ie...Click Here
Erm... how's this spam? EDIT: Is that what you're talking about? It's not my site and I'm not trying to make my post count higher... I'm lost :wth:
That's why I said 'I think'. I don't know 100% what spam is, but as far as I knew spam was any direct link to a site promoting your own site, linking to MP3's etc. If it's not spam, excuse my ignorance, but I thought I'd try to help you not get a warning like many 'newbs' do so easily.
It's best you let the mods handle it. That's not spamming. It's also an official source. Therefore it's not illegal either. I liked "Slither", I wonder what the rest is like.
I think it's pretty good, so far... I'm on #7 right now, but I've also heard "Set Me Free" and "Slither", so I have 4 more songs to go until I've heard the whole album... great stuff, though!
I heard "Slither" on Fuse on Monday. I thought it was really, really terrible. I'm not going to listen to the rest, even though I know about the whole "the first single is a bad representation of the album" thing. It was just too awful to listen to. Bad vocals, bad instrumentation. I just didn't like it at all. Stone Temple Pilots > Velvet Revolver
Fair enough. There are some different-sounding songs off of the album, and I'd say "Slither" is probably an odd choice for a single (since there were better choices), though it does represent the album, as a whole.
I'm not sure if anyone of you on the board had a problem with the Velvet Revolver album Contraband, but I did notice that the CD won't allow the owner of the cd to rip it on his/her computer. I have however found a site that describes how to prevent the cd from blocking your ripping. http://brandon.fuller.name/archives/2004/0...06/10/09.46.44/
I love those tutorials. And this must be something similar to the "virus" the Beastie Boys contained.
Nah, it's not the same at all. It asks you to install the program on Velvet Revolver's CD, which you can decline. Still, even if you do install it you can stop that by holding down "SHIFT" (which disables the auto-run in Windows) when you insert the CD, then you can rip it.
