In this interview with Yahoo Music (http://fuckyeahlinkinpark.tumblr.co...inkin-park-song-coming-soon-featuring-another) Chester talked about a new song and that they want to release it soon. It also has a special guest (collaboration) in it. Now I've got a few questions: -What do you think means "soon" (This month, next month)? -What direction do you think they will take with the new song (Metal, Rock, Hip Hop, Electro, ect...)? -Do you think the feature-guest is a singer or 'just' someone who worked with them on the music itself? -Do you think they gonna play it on the Asia Tour?
They said they had a surprise in the next month, I think a song is it since they played qwerty in a tour of Asia, or maybe they announce stuff like the puzzles and scavenger hunt from last year. I don't care what genre it is, just as long as it's good, I hope it's better than their other stuff so far, and very different from LT. The idea of a feature scares me, but it's probably a rapper or a DJ.
I highly doubt LP will play the new song on their Asia run. But to hear that some new material is on the way, and could be arriving soon, makes me feel excited. An early september release seems likely for me. Trusting the yahoo article it is a song (i.e. first single) of the new, so far unnamed, 6th studio album of Linkin Park and not some kind of side project they're currently working on. So regarding the time table to prior album recording and promoting cycles it could be possible the next record could be released this years winter; maybe an early december release - nevertheless I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks to see what kind of news will arrive. Concerning the style of the new song all I really hope is LP turning away again from the simple song structures which were again very present in the first half of LIVING THINGS. Personally I'd love to see LP pushing their Indie an Folk elements to next level. A little bit of Bon Iver here, a tiny piece of CocoRosie there and some quotes of Radiohead/Atoms for Peace to round it up. But that's just what I'd like. I have also no problems to see LP taking the direction of toolish-progrock. Like I said above, the only thing which would really disappoint me is by realizing LP will continue to make boring song structures, like most of the tracks on HT,M and LT have.
Yeah, I don't care what happens as long as it's good music, I want them to make something better than they already have
A Light That Never Comes - Linkin Park & Steve Aoki I think they said it is unlocked after completing LP Recharge
Do you guys think that the article was talking about A Light That Never Comes? The song isn't going to be on the new album.
