I know a few people say sales don't matter to them but I do want them to be successful in any of their endeavors. With both albums set to release the same day, do you guys think LP can overcome Lana Del Rey for #1?
It's cool that Ultraviolence drops basically at the same time as The Hunting Party, didn't know that. But yeah, I honestly don't care which charts better.
Lana sucks. Better than some other pop stars but still.. She'll run the charts but Linkin Park will put out the quality record. With UIG as the lead single I hope she does take the top spot over them if it ended up that way. ehlohehl

Well her last album only sold 77,000 first week while Living Things did 223,000, both released in 2012. I'm sure that LP will debut higher but have lower sales over time, just like what happened with Maroon 5.
Except the difference being Linkin Park has been around for over 14 years and Lana (Or Elizabeth Grant) didn't find her success until Born to Die came out. If you want to be technical, yes, her album only debuted at only 77k, but it went on to be the 5th best selling album of 2012 and sold much more than Living Things in total sales. Ultraviolence will undoubtedly sell higher 1st week sales than Born to Die. Her popularity jumped real high after the album came out. She also charts better than LP. She gained a ton of fans after that album, and they're pretty damn loyal too. I'm giving this one to Lana. At this point in time if you count her album sales, single charts, and Youtube views, she's currently more popular than LP at the moment. Sorry LP, looks like this will be your first non-remix album besides HT to not debut at #1. Oh well, we'll see. It'll be pretty damn interesting that's for sure.
I hate her. But I'd hate it if she gets No.1. cause my die hard fan friend wouldn't stop mentioning it.
I know charts don't matter, but I'm one of those people who enjoy an LP album at the top of the charts at least 1 week. But with Lana I don't know. She's gotten pretty big and wouldn't be surprised to her top LP.
Are you trying to say that it'll be a 1-sided win? For who? Or are you just saying it won't be interesting at all and you don't care? I'm interested and wonder if LP can take the #1 spot.
