In their recent write-up on Steve Aoki, Billboard reveals that one of the songs which is set to appear on Aoki's upcoming release "Neon Future, Part 2" is the result of a collaboration with members of Linkin Park. The article tells us that the song, tentatively called "Horizons", is one which Aoki began work on back in 2012, and that Linkin Park's involvement has changed it significantly from its origins. The relevant excerpt from the write-up briefly covers Aoki's time at a Las Vegas studio resuming work on the song: Source: Billboard via MagmaXtreme
About time this came up here (Should have been up ages ago) I'm looking forward to this, ALTNC is quite a unique song and I would like to see LP do something EDM based again. It's interesting that Mike wanted to make the song darker, imo too much EDM music entails happy superficial emotions, with lyrics that glorify the concept of love (or forbidden love, breakup, relationships, etc) in an immature manner without any true depth involved. Now I don't know too many EDM artists, but I would like to see some more dark songs in the genre.
I feel it's extremely rude and disrespectful to call us 'lazy' for being late on one post when we have been on time for all the others, and even broke news on something before any other fansite this week (Final Masquerade being in production). We put a lot of hard work into this site to make it the way it is, and being called lazy is kind of a slap to the face. I have no clue why our contributors didn't post this story. The whole purpose of us even having contributors is to make sure that stories don't go half a week without being posted, so for why this 3 day old story went without being posted, your guesses are as good as mine. I personally haven't been by a computer enough since Thursday to post this story because I've been setting up at an antiques extravaganza (antiques are my second job) and so today was the first day I could really sit down in front of a computer and truly give attention to the LPA. That being said, I'm still not about to throw the contributors or any of my staff under the bus. It was one story...that hardly makes us lazy.
I guess I need a kappa every time. The team does a good job, Derek, all of the time. It's just that people always notice something bad, not something good. This time, this includes me. I only use this forum, and I can say this is my favorite site online. It's just that this story has been in Got News for three days, so a sarcastic comment from the person that first posted it is to be expected. I don't really think anyone here's lazy. I know everyone has a private life, and this is just a forum. I'm just trying to say, it was a sarcastic comment, nothing more. I have nothing but respect for everyone here, especially you, because running this and AltWire... awesome.
After the resounding "meh" that was A Light That Never Comes, I don't think I could care less about this collaboration. (Goes back to The Hunting Party)
Hmm. okay. Whatever. Looks like ElectricTone wasn't a waste of a character. I don't really care for EDM music, but Steve Aoki seems like a cool guy. I like ALTNC because LP is in it (well just Chaz and Mike) and whatever any of the guys of LP touch, it is amazing.
Yeah sorry guys. I guess I was more just frustrated that we *were* behind. LPA has a reputation of being quick. This won't happen again. Even if it takes me posting stuff from work in between customers. Sorry folks.
Is it still correct that the album that includes the collab with LP will be released in 2015 while the first part of the album will be released in August?
