Just wanted to clarify something from earlier:

So.. from a guitar-player's understanding, a "power-chord" is just root-fifth or root-fifth-octave depending on the specific thickness of power-chord the player is going for..

That being said, the rhythm-guitar riff that opens Guilty All The Same and lasts until about the 55~56second mark is played entirely with power-chords. After that, the song is underpinned with power-chords all over the place: the whole bridge/Rakim-section is power-chords, they're under the louder choruses and interjected more quietly behind most of the rest of the song...

My best guess as to what is being said.. is that there aren't an abundance of guitar parts that are just slow chord progressions consisting of long, drawn-out power-chords?? ... like the guitars in the chorus of In The End for instance??

Ah yes. You are correct. I mean I didn't hear ITE style powerchords.

Yeah, it's impossible or at least unnecessary to avoid powerchords in heavy music. Of course they are going to be all over the place, it's not a bad thing - as long as the riffs and melodies are interesting, unlike the mentioned guitar part on ITE, or the one in Numb, for instance.

I have to say, after watching the entirety of the iHeart Radio Music Awards tonight, I feel extremely relieved that LP went this direction with The Hunting Party. I can't wait...

    "Sunday/Monday at the earliest.

The song is up on Spotify, but is listed as unplayable at the moment. However, I know someone who works with Spotify and he says that a song has never been on Spotify for more than a week without being playable.

Song went on Spotify on Monday.

I have my sources regarding that subject too. As stated before in the shoutbox, I've got a friend working at Spotify here in Sweden.

He said that the songs that are unplayable usually gets playable within a couple of days. It can take up to a week though. Nevertheless, there are albums/songs that has been delayed, ergo being listed, but still not being playable after a week. The thing is, originally, they were meant to be released sooner, but something came in the way.

This means, if the song is not released by Monday, something has happened and LP/Warner had to protrude the single.

If you guys keep thinking the song is "definitely coming tonight" every single day, you're going to destroy yourselves from disappointment. The band hasn't hyped anything yet, and once they get closer to the release of the track the hyping will commence. Then your brains will explode accordingly. Till then, this constant speculation is just making everyone disappointed when another day passes without the song.

So, in any song does Mike do the verses and Chorus while being lead?

Hmmmm very good question. He actually does sing a lot on this album (most since ATS actually). Mike and Chester basically share duties on a lot of the tracks. As for lead on verse and chorus....hmmm...hard to say exactly, as Chester usually at least appears in the choruses. I will say that the closest to what you're looking for is on Rebellion. Mike is lead on basically 80% of that track with the exception of the bridge and part of the chorus. His singing voice is also stronger than ever.

That's great news. This pertains only to the 6 tracks you had previewed to you, correct? So he could possibly sing more on the other tracks? :hmm:

That has me more amped about this album than anything else that's been said to promote it
I much prefer Mike's singing voice over Chester's.

Yep only 6 tracks. So your theory could be true.
