As much as I'd love this, I'd even be delighted with them just reworking old songs acoustically. It would take them a fraction of the time and this version of FM only shows how epic and different songs we've already heard can be when approached from a different angle. Acoustic QWERTY anyone?
No,thanks LP for doing this (especially because you did it for free ). The guitar, the strings, the harmony....Speechless!! Again, thanks LP..
God dammit. Just God dammit. That was so fucking brilliant. That's the kind of vocal interplay I want to see between the two big guys. Absolutely beautiful.
but brad is singing again after the bridge starts shinoda and then on the back is brad it resembles his work on uib demo and i am on th acoustic train too
Joe knows how to play guitar. He spontaneously grabbed Brad's acoustic during the LPU Summit and played a little bit of Tom Petty's Free Fallin'. (I'm only posting proof because Chester told me to sing and gave me the mic, no big deal. It's not like half the band assumed I was in a band later and asked "why the fuck not" when I replied in the negative, except they did.)
^ Even discounting that, electronic atmospherics and sampled elements in downtempo acoustic gtr-driven music is not unheard of at all. Linkin Park could make it work if they wanted to. What other Linkin Park songs do you guys think would well-suited for this kind of reworking? I think that an intimate acoustic take on "Waiting For The End" would be nice
Yeah or Robot Boy would be interesting. I can definitely hear the keyboard solo being played on an acoustic guitar.
Now this was an awesome surprise! These guys could definitely do a whole show with acoustics I think.
This is really amazing, sounds great! I'm for an acoustic EP, but LP7 completely acoustic? Meh, better that blend of experimental heaviness and acoustic elements which someone mentioned.
Finally got it to download using my phone instead of my computer. For whatever reason the javascript box wouldn't load in any browser. Way better then I expected. I would be all for an acoustic album, even if its just old songs made into acoustic like this one.
That's so weird. I considered checking out Mike's blog last night (something I never do) but decided "Nah, he rarely posts anymore and anything interesting he does post gets reported here." Then I saw this thread this morning and was like "Oh cool, I'm sure it sounds nice but these guys are most likely overreacting." Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised on both fronts
