I seem to recall reading about an unofficial greatest hits compilation titled The Document, but I'm not sure if that was legit or not. Now that I'm looking for it, I can't find anything much about it. What I have found says it was just an exclusive documentary on the making of Minutes to Midnight. But anwyay... wouldn't a greatest hits thing pretty much encompass all of their singles to date except for Papercut? For some reason, that song gets very little airplay.
Hmm... that's why then. And I was wondering why I only heard them late at night, when the station plays whatever.
i think in maybe another two cd's or so a "greatest hits" cd would be cool. but not now, its too early in their career to have one. to me, its a sign of a band getting old....
I know right. Why release a greatest hits when the band is still selling 6,7, maybe even 8 million copies of it's current cd worldwide? Lp is starting to get old on this album, but their not that damn old yet. Hybrid theory has only been out for seven years too, usually bands wait until they've been on the scene for ten years or more before releasing their first greatest hits. Seems like a really dumb move by Warner and the band if this is true. How about just a b-sides album, new dvd or better yet just release the fourth album next year in 2009 with no in-between fillers? That would be the best move.
You seem to be forgetting that it's Linkin Park we're talking about and apparently it's the law that they have to release at least one dodgy filler album/ep before making a new one.
The quicker they release a greatest hits the quicker they can break away from warner and not have the label bossing them around.
If they wanna just release stuff to get away from Warner, then they should get into the studio, have a jam session and make a 6 track EP. I'd buy it day of release.
Considering they agreed to a contract extension with Warner that added an additional 2 albums to their contract, I don't think they really have any intentions of breaking away from Warner anymore.
First off, I approved this post because you submitted it more than once. Please don't do that. Members who have under 50 posts are moderated so it could take a little bit of time before we approve your posts. Second, don't ask for mp3's. It's against the rules unless it's an exclusive that the LPA has obtained. Third, this is quite off the original topic.
Maybe they plan on releasing more new materail before then? I think everyone agrees 3 albums isn't enough to make a greatest hits and we demand Linkin Park not release it.
Just check for the albums listed. I've been doing the same thing. Take an artist and the album name and look for the release date and it'll match. There are some that are released earlier or a bit late, but those delays are not longer than 1 or 2 weeks. And so far, there are 2 albums on that list that were not released.
