Am I right in thinking the audio and video are from 2 different shows? Video is clearly the UK but I thought the audio was from elsewhere in Europe?
Hauntingly beautiful. It isn't all together uncommon for live footage/audio from more than one show to be compiled into a release. I think Live In Texas was filmed over the course of 2? shows...
Yeah LIT was two shows, I recall Chester saying he wore the same clothes twice in a row because he didn't want the DVD to seem weird Back on topic.. the only reason I asked about the video being from the UK is because..... DATS ME
LOVE that they made a video for this! This piano version is just so beautiful I love how he hugs the girl at the end and kisses the top of her head. I miss this guy so much and watching this video still hurts.
lol nice According to http://lplive.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=13028 the audio is from Berlin June 12 and the video is from London July 3rd
Yeah two different shows for the audio and video. Wonder if they'll continue doing videos for most songs or just 1-2.
I think that they could drop a full concert video on YouTube eventually, but, right now, it would only interfere with the live album's sales.
Mike answered this in his FB livestream. They have footage of the shows yes, but not enough for multiple angles etc for every song which is what the band would want if they made a DVD.
It's a shame that this song used to be a target for so much ridicule and so many "edgy" internet memes to make fun of people who whine about something minuscule. It's only now that Chester is dead that people are starting to finally appreciate how great this song is. "Crawling in my skin, these wounds they will not heal" was a broken man's dead serious cry for help, not some spoiled teenager whining about his parents taking his video game away. Besides, it's not like he was in high school when they recorded Hybrid Theory. He was already a husband and a father in his mid 20's.
To be fair, there's no denying that "Crawling" comes off quite melodramatic, and that's actually a big part of why it's so iconic - a love-it-or-hate-it kind of deal.
I don't really view it as melodramatic because it implies that he was being overdramatic or exaggerating with his lyrics. Considering recent events and some of the things we've come to learn, I'd say he wasn't being either of those things. He was just being real.
I think Crawlings bad rep comes from the fact that people look at it more as them trying and failing to come up with something 'metaphorical', as opposed to its more literal interpretation; Chester was a drug addict, and was singing a song about addiction and the actual physical sensation of things crawling in his skin. I think they've tried to deny that was the actual intention of the song, but they said something similar about Breaking the Habit and that songs very obvious sentiments as well, so that's always been my approach to it.
