Since the big September 5 live event that heralded Linkin Park's return to the stage in more than one sense, the band's official social media channels have been feeding fans a steady stream of new content. Most prominently, proshot videos of select songs from that live set have been regularly released on YouTube. These uploads feature different audio mixes and new camera angles compared to what was seen on the livestream, rendered in stunning 4K resolution. So far, over the past week, we've been treated to individual videos of "The Emptiness Machine", "Numb", "In The End", and "Lost". Joining that list today is this video of "What I've Done": As with many of the older songs appearing in Linkin Park's current live shows, "What I've Done" has been transposed to a different key that is more ideal for vocalist Emily Armstrong to sing it in, taken up 3 semitones from G minor up to B-flat minor. The song is a longtime fan-favourite and one of the band's most successful singles to date, and so naturally remains a staple of Linkin Park's live shows, appearing most recently in the first set of their current "From Zero" live tour in Los Angeles. Agreed! There is a level of genuine excitement that can be felt in those recent performances, it'd be great to have it captured.
I don't really enjoy hearing a lot of these transposed older songs live, but I do have to say I really like how Emily sounds doing the choruses in this one. Really makes me feel it
Linkin Park has spent so much time talking about what they've done. They're even posting videos about it. But I really just want to know what they've done! Stringing us along since 2007 is pathetic!
The key changes caught me off guard hearing these songs the first time with Emily. They're still a little weird to me with some of the more iconic parts of these songs (WID's piano intro, the Numb intro, Faint strings sample), but Emily sounds great, It's just going to take some getting used to after listening to the studio recordings for so many years
Yeah, spill the tea dammit! As for the song(s), it will take some time to get used to but like I said in the streaming, a couple of these play nice to me because there are some LP songs that are impossible to me the way they are, because they're very low. The verses of WFTE, I just cannot I sing along a whole octave higher (not that I sing any good anyway but like any human who enjoys music they want to sing too).
