Update: This performance is set to air on Good Morning America on Thursday, May 18th at 7am EST, same day Linkin Park play Jimmy Kimmel. Linkin Park surprised the commuters of New York City today by playing a secret pop-up show on the Shuttle Platform at Grand Central Terminal as part of Good Morning America's Pop-Up week. The show was kept secret from the public with no details announced prior apart from the initial announcement that something was going down today. Word began to quickly spread on social media though. LPLive also live streamed it which was captured on their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10155254843043267 01. Heavy 02. Burn It Down 03 Crawling (Piano Version) 04. What I've Done 05. In the End (Impromptu Acoustic w/ Fans Rapping) Even Linkin Park's mixing engineer tweeted about it: U2 played in the same exact location back in 2015 which was also a surprise for travellers.
Dammit. I was hoping I had a NYC run today just to see them. I threw Minutes to Midnight in my backpack and a few sharpies, I didn't get a run and then there was NOTHING about where a secret show would be. I was off work at 1, I should have went to the city. --RS
On the one hand living in New York even I would have been slightly pissed that my commute was screwed...its a New York thing lol you don't mess with our commute...on the other hand I'm Internally crying because I was literally 5 minutes away from where they were playing and didn't know it was happening at the time.
Torn I missed this... Found out about it around 7 :30 and ran from 15th street to get there. Then I Finally got there around 8 and the show was over sadly. Anyone know what time it ended? I think I missed them by 10 or so minutes. Did they meet with fans or anything after:
