I know a band...
And @Gibs really loves them.
I finally decided to listen to other music today
This album is so good I couldn't stop playing it for basically a week
I think one of the major reasons why I have been listening to this album so much is because of how it puts me in a good mood. That's what I love that is different about this album: it truly is a feel good album, and I really dig it.
I can agree with that until One More Light the song turns me into an emotional wreck haha.
I also listen to the album so much because of how fun it is to sing a long to.
Man this review reflects me so much when listening to this album in the car. I hope you all feel the same.
Do check this out.
GIVE THIS MAN A COOKIE JOE...!
One thing that I really love about One More Light is that it is not only a message to people to hold the ones you love tight and remember those who have passed away, but there are messages about depression/suicide in it. Especially in the first verse, with lines like:
This is some of the best writing of all of Linkin Park's discography (in my opinion of course).
"Heavy" and "Battle Symphony" really were the worst songs to pick to promote this album ... but I'm glad they picked those ones so that I wasn't disappointed by any of the remaining 8 songs I hadn't heard beforehand.
I think what's good about the lyrics on this album is that the band (for the most part) abandoned the super vague imagery that they were obsessed with putting in their lyrics the last few albums. The songs are for the most part a lot more straightforward, and while in some cases that could turn out to be a bad thing...in the case of OML it works. Many of the songs are a lot more relatable because they deal directly with the emotions being encountered, instead of being buried under vagueness.
Do we have any Sales update on OML? How much copies has it sold till now in US? Will it debut at #1?
It's projected to go #2
Like it or not, many of them saying that are LP fans. I wouldn't say they sold out but the sudden change in sound to such a blatant radio-friendly pop music + the Mercedes product placement in music videos.... it doesn't really put them under the best light.
They say they doubt it will surpass Kendrick Lamar so looks like this will join Hybrid Theory and The Hunting Party on being #2! Congrats to Linkin Park! This one is for all the haters.
Going #2 will be ammo for haters, saying they should have gone #1.
Even worse is that it's a 1 month and 1 week old album it's losing to. That's even more ammo.
Also, I swore THP went #2 but I looked it up today and it went #3
They'll always find something to go at. And what?! I swore it went #2 too! That's crazy!
Well it was up against Lana Del Rey and Sam Smith
This album cycle has been a big headache for me, personally.
A sale of 90,000 is expected. Less than THP which did 110,000.
It gonna be number one in England for suRe
I wonder if it will not hit #1 here in germany, because they always did.
Are you sure? I don't think "Heavy" is doing as well there so I don't see much buzz from that side of the world.
