They have got to win a least one award with that many nominations.

I'm not going to even comment on the ludicrousness of that because I wouldn't like to offend anyone's music tastes here.

I mean this year she got 18:

Rihanna takes the lead as a finalist in 18 award categories, including Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Female Artist, Top R&B Artist and Top Dance/Electronic Artist. "Love the Way You Lie," her chart-topping collaboration with Eminem, places her as a contender in six song categories.
Meanwhile, Eminem is a finalist in 16 award categories, including Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top Rap Artist.
Lady Gaga follows as a finalist in 12 categories, with three releases all competing for Top Dance/Electronic Album: "The Fame," "The Fame Monster" and "The Remix."

Rihanna's latest nomination: Best Female Pop Performance Of A Single Written By Someone Who Sings Far Better Than Said Female - "Love The Way You Lie"

Skylar Grey should've been on that track. End of.

If Skylar released that track as herself, it wouldn't have been as big.

I love Holly as much as the next person, but she made the best business decision there, and thus got more money and more recognition than she would have if she released it herself. End of.

This is so fucking true. Rihanna gets too much attention than she fucking deserves by a long shot.

I disagree partially with your statement. If she had done it solo, yes she likely wouldn't have gotten really any respect...but if she had been on the Eminem track, and then later released a solo followup (like Rihanna did), I feel she would've still gotten the #1. Anything Eminem touches seems to burn up the charts.

I disagree with your disagreement with Minus. At the very least she wouldn't get to number one on a follow up album just because she was on 1 Eminem track.

I didn't even know that Holly wrote that song. After listening to her version of the song, I can definitely say she should have sung it rather than Rihanna.
Also, it may have been a better "business decision" for her, but she could have taken the chance to release it herself and still end up getting recognized for it.

Hmm... I still fail to see how they could be considered "Rock" after ATS, lol. There should be a genre, other than alternative, that is just called, "Unique".

Alternative Rock doesn't mean just one thing, it's an umbrella term that includes a lot of subgenres. Take the sub-genres listed on it's Wiki article for example: Britpop – College rock – Dream pop – Grunge – Post-grunge – Indie pop – Indie rock – Math rock – Noise pop – Noise rock – Paisley Underground – Post-Britpop – Jangle pop - Post-rock – Shoegazing.

And that's just a few. As you can see, calling LP "Alternative" is hardly limiting them to a certain sound :).
