Linkin Park band members Joe Hahn, Phoenix, Mike Shinoda and Emily Armstrong were recently interviewed by Kevan Kenney for KROQ. The three band members appeared remotely from their tour stop in Bogota, Colombia, and spoke to Kenney about topics like the beginnings of Linkin Park's return to making new music, getting opportunities to play in new places in the world on recent tour legs, and the fun of making the video for "Two Faced". This is the video version of the interview which was previously released in audio form earlier this month via Audacy, KROQ's parent company. Source: KROQ on YouTube via @minusxerø
I really dig that lil' story about how Mike came up with the vocals for Casualty. Seems like he was really unsure about doing it and had no idea if it sounded right or not, but when he came out off the recording room, everybody was cheering Props to Joe for suggesting a different approach! Rap verses would have been more cliché, while raspy Mike is f*cking gnarly, and I hope we get to hear a bit more of it in the future. It is unlocked Mike, it's unlocked.
