I do think its really weird how absent the band is from this promo thing. I think we got a few official photo shoots and the James Corden appearance but besides that its just been Mike & Chester. Sure they can't be everywhere all the time, but for some reason its not even like they bother trying IMO. Also I don#t mind bands doing acoustic versions for the press or media, but considering that they do it pretty much exclusively at the moment bothers me actually. On another note, I really hated the constant translating, sure it has to be done, but sometiems it even felt like she was cutting Chester off. Like sometimes you could notice Mike or Chester were making a pause to think of what to say and she started translating immeadiately. As someone who had to be a translator before it truly pissed me off.
The Facebook live performance the day Heavy was released was on fire, but some of these could use work. I do like battle symphony in this arrangement a lot, moreso than any others, even though Chester wasn't 100% on it. I really hope we get a full-band acoustic session soon though. They could do some special stuff as a full band with Castle of Glass, Powerless, WFTE, etc.
I know, a lot of my favorite artists do acoustic versions. . I just find it weird that this is the only way they're promoting the album other than next month's Echo Awards. I usually expect a personal interview here, a TV interview + performance there and all.
Interesting. Heavy feels lightyears better acoustic. Battle Symphony is just rather boring IMO. I far prefer the studio version.
I think it makes a lot of sense that only Mike and Chester & sometimes Brad are going around playing songs from this album acoustically. On this album the band literally started off by creating basic versions of all the songs by making melodies on Piano. So theoretically and technically the band already have the seeds to play the songs in a much more toned down version than what they finally became. I think the fact they've already played so many of the albums songs in a live setting is evidence that they most likely can already play the entire album live acoustically due to those simple piano melodies they started out with. Songs that have been played so far Talking to Myself Invisible Heavy Battle Symphony One More Light For this album I think it'd actually be much harder to figure out how to play all the layers of the finalized tracks live than just tweaking those piano seeds a little.
I would really appreciate if they release an acoustic album. One More Light: Reinterpretation. All OML tracks in piano, guitar arrangements.
I really thought Battle Symphony sounded great this way. It feels slightly more vulnerable and raw. You shut your dirty mouth!
