Correct man, according to people LP has been selling out like forever. A Thousand Suns Minutes to Midnight
Song is fantastic in my opinion. I listen to all genres though so I don't mind pop songs as long as they sound good, and this song sounds good.
Same here! I too listen to pop but it has to sound real and good. A lot of autotune, crappy lyrics and electronic stuff is a letdown.
Yea I feel people are clinging to the 'LP sold out' or the 'they should go back to their roots/stick to certain genres' mentality too much - and to me those things shouldn't be relevant as such because we've known for years that they make the music they want to. However this doesn't make up for "Heavy"'s flaws and shortcomings as I've laid out above.
I'm guess he is talking about auto-tune and such. While technically the song is real, auto-tune to me usually doesn't sound "real" if that makes sense
But that's the thing, what you're basically saying is that it is completely impossible for Linkin Park to have wanted to make this kind of music. Absolutely out of the realm of possibility. This is what has been said in this thread over and over again. Just because it's very radio-friendly and poppy does not directly correlate to it being a money grab to attract as many people as they can. Like ffs, that was literally the entire point of Hybrid Theory: radio-friendly nu metal. We might as well say they sold out in 2000. Is it really so hard to think maybe the band just wanted to play around with the mellow synth pop vibe?
After which Mike said: "Give the kids what they want mennnn" (in a funny way), and Chester said "There's your Hybrid Theory, now shut the f*ck up". lol
Or maybe they are pandering to themselves and making the sort of music they're in to at the moment. Look at their spotify playlists, listen to them talking about what artists they currently like. You might think it's uninspired, washed down music, but that doesn't make it a fact that it is. It's just an opinion. Some people, like me, think it's really good.
Btw, they said that they would have expected the negative response about "Heavy". I don't understand why they have done this. Are they annoyed?
I bet people would've freaked out out if they had released that nu metal version rather than the original one. I 'm pretty sure they'd still be able to make another Meteora if they wanted to.
