Really digging Kiiara's voice on this and the lyrics resonated a bit more than I anticipated after reading them a few days ago. Looking forward to see how the album turns out. This song is definitely an ear worm.
Good song albeit a little too short for my liking. Now that we know there are 10 songs on the album I REALLY hope we have some longer songs. One reason I didn't like LIVING THINGS was because how short that album was, so I'd love to see a few songs break the 4-5 minute boundary!
After some more thought about each album's lead singles, this has to be the weakest one for me. There's no way it beats GATS (even if it was just promotional), The Catalyst, or even What I've Done. Heck, I actually enjoyed BID as a lead single more than I'm enjoying "Heavy" at the moment. I can't quite remember which songs were the lead singles on HT or Meteora, though.
I like the song. It's too short as other have stated. Kiiara really sounds great and is the highlight here for me. My only complaint (besides the length) is that at the "And I drive myself crazy thinking everything’s about me" part Rob just kills it (in the good sense) and if they just repeated the lyric one more time it would really add more climax in my opinion. Also, in the last 1 second I can clearly hear a guitar segue to the next song maybe? Man, I'll be in the army when the album drops so I possibly won't be able to listen to it right away so that sucks. I guess I can hold on
It's not bad - certainly very much in the pop direction. A bit short, and totally structured for radio-friendliness. I don't hate it though. Needs more listens though.
I've grown up with Linkin Park over the years to the point where I'd appreciate every time they try something new. I won't like it every time, but I'd appreciate it. That's not saying that I don't like this song, it's just a genre I don't listen to. That being said, I'm curious in the way Mike says that the sound of this song is kind of a representative of the whole album.
Sure. I didn't had a specific point. Or maybe that it doesn't tell much about the quality of one song, if you enjoy everything anyway But whatever.
Interesting tracklist for the new album: 1.Nobody Can Save Me 2 Good Goodbye 3 Talking to Myself 4.Battle Symphony 5 Invisible 6.Heavy 7 Sorry for Now 8 Halfway Right 9 One More Light 10 Sharp Edges
ITT people complain about Linkin Park doing pop, even though they've been doing pop since the inception of the band.
Okay, after a few re-listens this has grown on me quite a bit. Still, this just reminds me of those "firecracker" songs on LT (complete with short length and all), just with much better vocals. I hope the final album has more unique, interesting stuff (It probably will, since this song just seems like a radio-targeted release). I'm definitely excited.
What some here don't get: people (including me) aren't disliking this because it's different. They dislike it because it's shit. I absolutely loved ATS. It was an incredible piece of art, although it was very different to anything the band has done before. This, on the other hand, is just a boring ass random pop radio song with no depth whatsoever, even worse than Burn It Down.
