Lets hope it charts well on Billboard.
Yeeeah it might benefit you to actually listen to what is said in the interview.
Apparently you listened to some other interview... Mike explicitly stated they worked one on one with anybody that came into the studio, always. If it felt disingenuous, they stopped working with said people. Heavy in particular was worked on by Mike, Brad, Chester, Justin Tranter, and Julia Michaels. And then they called in Kiiara to lay down vocals.... if that's not what you define as collaboration, then that's up to you I guess
I take "Is not linkin park" as a compliment
Heavy or Until It's Gone? Which one is better?
Anyone who hasn't checked out YT comments, I suggest avoiding them. It's just depressing and frustrating.
Enjoy the music and don't worry about others.
I'm very happy knowing this Derek, and I really hope this is true. I really love the guys in Linkin Park and I can't see them becoming victims of Warner and other big labels. Because truth is, terrible things are happening there. I love LP for having started their own label and always producing their own stuff, but this song just really scared me because of the lyrics being like every other pop artist nowadays, depression and things like that, being used and all that crap. I like Muse, and they've come with some music industry revelations which are quite heavy. Linkin Park will always be my favourite band, not necessarily because of the music but because Chester, Mike, Joe, Phoenix, Brad and Rob are all people I feel I can trust somehow, are intelligent and not slaves of the industry.
... Numb? Really?
He probably meant Numb is a masterpiece compared to Heavy.
I've listened to it about 15 times now, lol. This is by far their poppiest song I can think of, studio albums or otherwise. However it turned out better then I thought. I really like the slow build throughout the song, introducing more instruments until a pretty intense ending. I also like the lyrics. I wish it was more guitar driven and heavy..er. And it's made me a little nervous about what else is on the album, because sounds like it was designed to be remixed into an EDM club song. Nevertheless, even when LP don't give me what I want, they always impress me with what they got.
The song is great but I don't think there's replay value and I really hope the album won't be boring to listen to after a while because none of the albums after ATS have replay value imo
The thing is, we've only heard one full song of a total 10. Or 10% of the album. Yes, Mike has implied that 'Heavy' is a core song and sounds like the rest of the album, but he also said there are multiple genres. When Mike said it sounds like the album, he could be referring to the vocals, the 'sonic identity' of the album, or the elements in the songs. The fact is, we have no clue. We only have what Mike says to go off of and even that's not totally clear.
One More Light is likely going to be an album where we need to hear the other songs to 'get' it.
No. Robot Boy does not sound like Linkin Park. Say what you want about the new song but had they released Robot Boy as the first single from ATS, it would be classified almost exactly under the same category (albeit less mainstream) as Heavy.
It's the reason why, even tho I think Heavy is alright and decent, we need to wait till more songs are revealed to understand how truly different the sound is and if there are any returning LP sounds or characteristics to them.
Wouldn't be surprised to see this do well in the charts. The masses listen to truly atrocious music these days so this will sound like a masterpiece to the average human.
Savage. Wow lol.
Why do I get the feeling you hate this song?
You know me so well
Would you like some more salt with your stake, sir?
Not sure if this is fish bait or true savagery
