OK I broke. Talking To Myself sounds....strange. Definitely the least LP sounding song I've heard in awhile. One More Light sounds amazing. That guitar solo hit me in the feels so damn hard.
Part of me wonders how they even said Heavy was a 'core song' in regards to how the album sounds, because Sorry For Now and Talking To Myself (I'm holding off on OML) from the snippets don't sound anything like Heavy. They're both 'pop' but that's far and away the only similarity .
I'm so sorry to hear that. My condolences. Hopefully this new music will help you pull through a little or provide a bit of comfort at least.
You heard it here first ladies and gentlemen, the repeating of the word "flickers" is officially Taylor Swift copyrighted material. "Promises broken", "lies", "let it go", and "holding on" along with other such clichéd terms are absolutely okay though and often recommended.
One More Light chorus: "They say who cares if one more light goes out In a sky of a million stars It flickers, flickers Who cares if someone's time runs out If a moment is all we are We're quicker, quicker Who cares if one more light goes out Well I do.
I don't call it awesome. but a really good song which don't deserve that much hate. And it's way better than their usual mainstream stuff like BID, WID, Numb or ITE. imo.
I agree with this mostly and I think Heavy is better than BID and even GATS imo but I think WID, Numb and ITE were better pop songs imo.
I'm liking the promotion going on for this album. The band and even WBR seems to be in full swing this time around. They said the same thing for 'The Catalyst' but there was no other song like that in ATS. I think it's more about the whole poppy nature of the song and the difference in Chester's vocals. I'm kinda sure that 'Heavy' was probably the poppiest song from the album. I assume they released that as the lead single just so that the rest of the album would sound less generic poppy. I'm so sorry to hear that. Losing a close one is the only thing I fear in this world so I can't even begin to imagine what you must be feeling.
The only small critique I have with the One More Light clip is I think the lyrics would be better if they were "They say who cares if one more light goes out In a sky full of myriad stars" A million is much too small a number. :|
Me too. I see those lyrics as referring to how we are but a 'flicker' in time of the history of the universe, but that despite our insignificance to the universe as a whole, the loss of a loved one still feels like it's all that matters at that point. Like it's the writer's whole world. Very poignant imagery.
No doubt. Like you, I get strong MTM vibes, which is awesome. I was reading the LP thread on KTT, and it shocks me some poster thinks MTM and ATS are cheesy and cliched. Even called SOTD cliched.
Absolutely loving OML so far. I think it would've been close to the sound they would've had if they actually made that indie type album before switching to THP
We got some next level conspiracy theory in this one. But other than that all good. TTM is definitely fun; I'll reserve my judgement for OML till we get the studio recording, just because. also: plz make dat acoustic album guyz
These guys seem to making, what I'm going to label as, "Old Man Music", and that's okay, because I'm getting old, too.
