Chester and Kiiara harmonizing on the 2nd verse? Felt sure it would be her verse after her tweet earlier. Given the way he seemed to be singing it it's difficult to imagine how that might sound.
Passive aggressiveness is unnecessary and really uncalled for. I've loved and enjoyed this space for years and will continue to do so. LPA, in its posts and presentation of material as an entity, has done an outstanding job of supporting official content over leaks and unsanctioned information. Fan speculation, however, is none of that and shouldn't be meddled with unless it's causing a significant problem, which these few comments were not. The opportunity the LPA team has been afforded to guide the band's album cycles should not supersede fans' opportunities to share their thoughts and anticipate with baited breath, however that manifests itself. Anyone who's participating in this conversation is expressing their excitement for new music. Over the course of the cycle, that can take many forms but should only do so by what the band itself releases.
Haven't logged on since thp album cycle, even though I am sooo ready for new music. But I had to log in when I saw this comment. Derek has always been awesome with keeping fans in the know, and making sure the right info is getting out. He hasn't said anything about any other speculation besides the band breaking up, which is just a terrible rumor anyways. I don't really think you have a reason to be mad. I'm happy we have difinitive proof now.
As much as I prefer Heavy LP, I cant deny the genius of some songs. Robot boy being a good example. A good song is a good song. I wouldnt mind some stuff like that.
I'm not certain how just clarifying that the band won't break up is *meddling* in fan speculation. I understand what you're trying to say here in terms of letting people speculate, and perhaps Derek didn't have to put the foot down on that rumor, but it happened. It's nothing anyone has to get worked up about! And what Derek said is not a statement on whether or not you can or should speculate (you have every right to do that and we encourage it!) - take it more as a reassurance that an unfortunate speculation is not true, which is something we can celebrate as Linkin Park fans. There's just no need to escalate anything here. Your point's been made and that particular speculative rumor is dead. We can move on and share in our excitement for new material from the band.
Oh, don't get me wrong... I was not at all being passive aggressive there. If you want to claim that I was being a spiteful smart ass, however, I will take it. Because I was. We allow everyone here to have thoughts and speculation, but when we know, for a fact, that something is an incorrect rumor, you had better believe that we will let you know so, speculation be damned.
Don't get my words twisted there. "Speculation be damned" was in reference to when there is factual evidence to disprove speculation.
Truly, this post was incredibly relevant to the discussion of this thread. Bravo, sir. Here's your Oscar.
How about we speculate about things that matter? Amount of tracks anyone? Overall sound of the album? When we will get the album? Will the album be self-titled? Length of the album? How many features on the album? How many new songs will they play on tour? *Probably 3* Ect
I must say my favorite part of this all is that the song comes out at 7am (where I live) Seems really early to release a song but I'll be able to heat the song before work! Here is to hoping it will be release to Spotify the same time so I can play it on repeat all day
19 songs. Indie/Electronic/Alt Pop/R&B/Hip Hop. I'd love to hear more grooving basslines from Phoenix, personally. April 1st. It won't be an April fools joke, but the fanbase will implode because they'll think it is. Yes. 1 hour and 12 minutes. 5 features. As for new songs, probably 2 to start with, and 5 by the end of the tour. So that means we'll never get to see 14 of those songs. I feel like those predictions are more of what I want rather than what will realistically happen. Except for the last one though. I want them to play the entire album on tour.
