I hope the new album is brutally heavy like Napalm Death. It would be unexpected. No rapping, no cleans, 100% screaming and just guitar, bass, drums, and no samples / synths. No one would see it coming. Going in a more indie pop direction is totally expected.
Yeah jeez I sure hope no one is guessing that shit. Whoops. This was my first guess, and is likely the name of the album. This was my second guess, and likely the name of LP8. Please see yourself out. I'm going to hold you to that.
*Movie trailer voice* They pioneered nu metal with HT and M and changed the game, they created old metal with THP and brought rock back, now....in 2017, they are combining both genres, twisting mic chords into double helixes to show them what they are made of with......ONE METAL. COMING SOON, STAY TUNED
I don't know, man. I mean, I never doubt LP. I love them and I have loved them for 14 years. I just think that if this album goes like total pop music, which I don't rly think it will, won't it be stupid since they defended that "rock was dead and we need more rock" just on the last album? I respect the band a lot, I don't imagine them being total hypocrites. Anyway, I see that Mike was excited and that makes me excited, but so far I really dunno what to think. That's good, in a way. Let's wait and see.
You know what's unexpected?it would be really unexpected if they release a 40 min track talking about what a great album this is and at the last moment of the track they say "f*** you all. We're not releasing it". And then they burn themselves and the master disk of album with gasoline to the ground.... That would bee really unexpected...
Does this mean we will get an album full of "A Light That Never Comes"??? Because that's what comes to my mind when they speak about "the poppiest thing that comes to mind" That would be pretty much the only thing where they would kinda lose me as a fan. But of course, I could be totally wrong, I actually really hope I am...
I'm really excited AND scared for this album, hah! Don' get me wrong, I don't have any problem with pop music. I think that pop, when done right and specially if it mixes rock music, can be a really awesome and interesting thing (Gorillaz, Daft Punk, The 1975, Save Rock n Roll by Fall Out Boy, last BMTH album...) However, I'm scared that it's gonna be a boring, mainstream, not risky at all, common pop song with some edm, a catchy chorus and nothing interesting at all. I don't think they'd go there, they're not hypocrites... But oooh boy, I'm scared of it. I'm hoping for the best tho: a poppy but weird and experimental album, with an atmosphere kinda like A Thousand Suns and a lot of real emotions on it. Also ATS is my favourite album by them, so I'd be over the moon if that was the case! I don't give a shit about the genre, I just want something fresh, real, that makes me wanna listen to it over and over again while making me emotional and then think "these mofos are craaaazy." (Hoping for a MGK feat as well. Please make it happennnnn.)
You guys are obviously missing what the title is! It's clearly "One More Blunt and I'm Calling the Cops", and will be a 1h30m saga of Linkin Park roasting Sublime With Rome in 20 different genres
Just read this comment on YouTube: "Don't let a mere word "Pop" ruin your expectation of the album, remember these are Linkin Park we are talking about, these guys know what they are doing." This kinda changed my mind a bit, because yeah, it is LP we're talking about, they can pull off almost any genre and still make it sound cool and unique...
I have a theory: the second video shows us how they were talking about how the lyrics are honest and stuff. then the 3rd video show us the practice of this. and so in the 4th video they were talking about the direction of the album THAT MEANS: in the next video they gonna show us some snippet of the sound of the album.
