To me, LP going with the DnB route would be them going with what the latest trend is. Though, I certainty wouldn't mine hints of it here and there.

I'd much rather see some delving into dubstep. See:

It would sound awesome as long as Linkin Park pull it off as well enough. Also I may sound a bit n00bish but i hope they don't make it too clubish.

If Linkin Park did dubstep I'd cry at how cliche that would be. Dubstep has been done to death now.

    This.

Dubstep is in, simple as. I for one love it (although there is some really shit dubstep out there).

Singing isn't cliche. Linkin Park has toned down the guitars a lot.

WUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUB on the off-beats = incredibly cliche. It's been done so often, by so many people, the exact same way, that every time I hear a dubstep song now I feel like it's a parody. It's fun to listen to sometimes but if Linkin Park did an album with dubstep on it I'd be disappointed.

Name one band on the radio that doesn't have a singer.

You need to get out more. There's waaaay more to dubstep than just WUBWUBWUBWUB.

If you need to be more intellectually stimulated, try some IDM.

What I meant was that singing never gets old. Dubstep to me seems to suffer in the same way nu-metal did in that it all sounds relatively the same and uses the same tricks.

And IDM is a stupid term (irony?). It's also not dubstep.

Also LOL at someone telling someone to "get out more" when it comes to music.

I never said IDM was dubstep. I'm saying it's more intellectually stimulating.

But yes, there are varying degrees of dubstep and not every song sounds exactly the same.

What if LP made a ball-busting album instead?
