After a long hiatus from our Monthly Mix-Ups, we are thrilled to bring you a remix competition in celebration of Linkin Park's latest record, From Zero, and the recent releases of From Zero: A Cappellas and From Zero: Instrumentals (both out now)! Over the next month, we invite you to submit your best remix of tracks exclusively from the latest record. Armed with acappellas and instrumentals, we could not be more thrilled to see what our community of creators has in store, especially once they know what the prize is. A PRIZE, you say? Yes, and you'll be thrilled to learn that eternal glory is just part of it. The winner will receive a From Zero vinyl - SIGNED BY THE BAND! These babies are rare, and we were lucky just to get our hands on one. If you can wow our panel of judges, it's yours.* *Shipping is available except to Ukraine or Russia, given the present conflict. Okay, so how does this work? To participate in Remix From Zero, here's what you have to do: Once your remix is ready, upload it in .mp3, .wav, or .flac format to Google Drive or Dropbox. Make sure that it is viewable and NOT private. Once your remix is complete and uploaded, fill in THIS GOOGLE FORM and include the share link in the relevant field. You are welcome to share your remix via YouTube or any other public platform, but you must submit via the Google Form to enter the competition. ALL SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY MARCH 31st, 2025 by 11:59 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time (GMT - 7:00). LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. LPA staff will not be providing any other resources for you to sample or use in your entry. Besides the acappellas and instrumentals, you must use what you have at your disposal within the bounds of the rules (see further down). Who are the judges? Your entry will be judged by a select (and, some might say, ruthless) group of LPA Administrators and Moderators. When will you announce the winner? The top entries and the winning entry will be announced on a live podcast/stream in April 2025. The date is to be determined, but we will announce it ahead of time with all the details you'll need. ENTRY RULES - READ THIS CAREFULLY One entry per person only. You must not sample any copyrighted material beyond the songs off From Zero, or any obvious interpolations (per judges' discretion). New lyrics and vocals are prohibited. AI-generated vocals and soundalikes are prohibited. You are only permitted to manipulate existing vocals off From Zero. Elements such as vocal stabs in the instrumentation are generally acceptable, as long as you heed the previous rule. Your remix can incorporate elements from as many From Zero songs as desired. If you are unsure and have questions about certain rules, please ask any LPA staff member or reply to this thread with your question. So, have at it! Seeing these remix contests make a comeback makes me happy. I can't say for certain if I'll be taking part in this but I can't wait to see the results!
