Disagree by far. By no means are these guys the best band. I mean, if you look at Hybrid Theory in comparison to Meteora, there's little to no progression. In fact, it's almost as if there is a negative progression.

There's also the blatant formula argument. If you compare two LP songs, they have almost the exact same structure. There are the blatant use of power chords. The bland lyrics of Meteora. It's all the same.

I'm not that big of a fan of LP at the moment. The only thing I can get into is Reanimation, because that is just... THAT'S an album.

Otherwise, I can name many bands that are better than LP.

System of a Down, Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Depeche Mode, etc.

EDIT: Jay-Z's collaboration actually brought a little respect back into LP for me. That they could understand the mash-up and execute it so well brings them up a little.

    This is like deja vu.

Reanimation had a perfect mix of rock and rap. Each song flowed differently and was a completely different animal. Take the slow intensity and skillful rhymes of Mike and Chali in Forgotten. The upbeat techno feel of Pushing Me Away and Points of Authority. The emotional Crawling.

Meteora is Hybrid Theory part 2. What is there production-wise is taken away musically. Musically, there's nothing new on the table. It's another album. Reanimation blows it away with production and memorable songs.

    They broke up.

Mike has a solo album, Chester has a solo album, Brad has turned into a consultant, Joe has his movie The Seed, Rob turned fully to his Jewish roots and is attempting to be a rabbi, while Phoenix is writing commercial jingles.

Everything Minus Xero said was true except the Rabbi and Commercial Jingles thing.

And no, they haven't broken up. Minus Xero is just mean.
