Ahead of Linkin Park's shows in Saitama, Japan, as part of the extensive From Zero world tour, band members Mike Shinoda, Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain have made a promotional appearance on the Japanese morning program DayDay, broadcast across the country on the Nippon Television channel. The trio performed a stripped-down and shortened arrangement of their From Zero single "The Emptiness Machine", with the only instrumentation provided by Shinoda on piano and Brittain playing acoustic guitar. This marks the first time Linkin Park has reinterpreted any From Zero songs in this style. In addition to the musical performance, the members of Linkin Park also participated in gameshow segments which involved, among other things, Emily Armstrong touching a crab and Mike Shinoda attacking a host with a plastic hammer. An official upload of the entire program is expected soon now available: This is not the band's first appearance on a Nippon TV program; in 2017, Shinoda and bandmate Chester Bennington showed up on the late-night news program News Zero in the lead-up to the band releasing their 2017 album One More Light, delivering a piano-based rendition of lead single "Heavy". This was part of a string of promotional appearances during that period, which included guest spots on various YouTube channels in addition to more traditional TV performances. Following the band's two Saitama shows, they head to Indonesia for a single show in Jakarta later in the week, before taking a two-month break to prepare for the extensive North American phase of 2025's grueling tour schedule.
