Love the cover!! However I still hate guilty all the same. I've only listened to it probably 10 times. I really hope it's the only song I don't like
That one is the shit. It screams epicness, war, blood, hunting and visceral at the same time. The colors really matters.
I can't stand artists/bands that do that. If you literally only take two days to make a song, then you really don't give a shit about the music and that you want is the money.
"The colors really matters." No they don't. It's all a matter of opinion, the cold colors are equally as visceral and intense, to just assume only darker or red tones evoke the feeling of brutality is close minded plain and simple. The pallet clearly represents the mood of the album in the bands opinion so for people on a fan site to simply imply they can improve on their vision is very rude.
So. After more reflexions, I changed my mind about the cover. I guess that badass arrow illustration makes it for the empty background. And I like the menacing tone of the whole imagery. Combined with the album title and GATS playing, it really shouts "We're going to fucking destruct your world".
In a band that encourages their fans to be creative, how are these covers an insult? What's so 'wrong' about everyone representing their own vision of the cover? How is this any different from a remix? It's reimagining an existing concept and I like several fans did it, I want to do it myself. What can you say for example, about Reliving Things which was shared by Mike and the participation of NoBraiN in ATS, who not only captured the essence of that LP sound and 'improved' their vision to an extent they let his contribution in WTFCM stand in the final version? They were not offended and it shouldn't be an offense fans wanting to reinterpret an album cover.
Has anyone tried to interpret what the parts of the album art are? I make out the bow, the hands and arms, and what looks to be legs, but what's with all the spiky parts at the top?
I think it's an abstract being and the spikes with the petal-surroundings is the head. What I can't distinguish very well is whether it has a full right leg
We are talking about the album though, not a fan driven re-design for a remix album. This design was chosen by the band for the album to already see so much arrogance and alternate designs is rude, let the design speak for the music first. To just immediately critique a cover the band support and will be making the face for a project they are clearly very excited/proud of is rude. A redesign is not needed because it's not our album or our vision it's Linkin Park's and the amount of disrespect towards their vision is just disappointing.
All the instant alternate covers is just as insulting as anyone who critiques their music and believe they can make it better, don't waste your life insulting others art/vision make your own and make better use of your time than arrogantly assuming "that sucks and I could make the art/music better. Do anyone of you think the band is happy to see alternate versions to a design they must've really thought about in regards to being the cover to a new risky album? Of course not, but clearly plenty of people think that their "tweaks" are needed or wanted, they are not.
