Agreed. This along with the radio blog post yesterday have both left me feeling kinda concerned about what's being said but super excited for the actual music. I like Haim. I really like CHVRCHES. I love Foster the People. I don't want to feel like Mike is telling I listen to shitty music, even if that's not what he meant. But dat album and cover gets all my monies. QUICK EDIT: Though I wonder if it was said more based on who he was talking to. While I'm not really a Radiohead fan, the article about them on that same site posted today made me want to vomit.
I wish they would've kept the red color scheme for the album art like the Carnivores Tour. None the less I am pleased with how it looks.
I really like that Mike pointed out that Foster was a jingle writer. His point is that Foster the People are a rock band that sounds like they make jingles. It's true. Kinda like calling Linkin Park pop The cover is dope. It doesn't have make me think thrash metal though.
I knowwww. That's why I'm trying to not do it now. But in every interview he seems to escalate his rhetoric and says something even worse than before. Bluh. I do really like the album cover though. And I can get onboard with the music probably.
Although I would've like to see some red in there (considering the original art, and that it's my favorite color) to make it look a bit more aggresive, I am glad the album cover doesn't move to that "thrash metal style" though. I might just be speaking out of pure ignorance, but I'm not sure if an artwork of that style would fitted with who Linkin Park are.
I have to agree with you. I am huge fan of Mike. He always is really down to earth and humble. There are some statements in this interview that are not typical for Mike. Either it was used out of context or this might be one of the few interviews where I don´t like some of the things he had to say. But no problem, there are days where I am not happy about things I said so I guess the same is possible for Mike Despite that, finally a release date. So soon, I am very happy that we don´t have to wait until August =)
New record being just over two months away is great. Also, now that it is official I'm glad to say they have stuck to the plan of getting albums out the door in under 2 years since ATS. Hopefully some LPTVs in the next few weeks to give us a preview of things to come!
Part of me thinks he's trying to pull a Kendrick Lamar and call rock bands out to incite more competition in rock music, but that he's not approaching it in the right manner at all.
Reminded me of this song that I haven't heard in years.
THIS. Last 4 album covers look kinda similar... change it a bit maaan. But out those 4 (MTM, ATS, LT, THP), this one looks the best imo.
I've always preferred this MTM cover than the one they chose. If I remember correctly, this one was being seriously considered at one point.
I like that they went with the "Living Things style" for the cover art, but that particular image? Meeeeeh. Not terrible, but still.
look at joe he's a little bit far from the others band members it's like go away joe we don't need you we will do a heavy shit album and we don't need your electronic stuff so don't stay
I really like the new cover, but to be perfectly honest screw the cover and give me the music I will only be judging this album on the songs, if they artwork helps elevate the entire album fine, if not all I need is the music.
