I have seen confusion on these forums, especially newbies, about what we are talking about when we use abbreviations like IBG or COG. I don't know if this has been done before, so i am just going to do it. Don't scream at me too much...

I'd like to talk about this. Robot Boy and Rob Bourdon both share the same abbreviation, which as you could have guessed is RB (in case anyone didn't take the time to fully read through the post like I did). I think this presents an opportunity for the neophytes amongst us to become confused.

I took a moment to think about how the abbreviations here could be fixed for Instant Clarification and Clarity (what we in the business call IC&C, if you will). I thought first, why not RoBo for Robot Boy and RB for Rob Bourdon? But then I thought, but both Rob Bourdon and Robot Boy could be RoBo. So then I thought, why not make Rob Bourdon RoBo instead, while Robot Boy stays as RB? But the same problem emerged - both Rob Bourdon and Robot Boy could also be RoBo. Faced with a challenge, I kept thinking. I didn't want to give up.

I thought then, why not RobBo for Robot Boy and RB for Rob Bourdon? But both Rob Bourdon and Robot Boy could be RobBo. So why not make Rob Bourdon RobBo instead, while Robot Boy stays as RB? But again - the same problem emerged - both Rob Bourdon and Robot Boy could also be RobBo. I was stumped.

I pushed myself to the limit and went further. Why not RoboBo for Robot Boy and RobBou for Rob Bourdon? I thought I'd finally found the solution.

But then I realized that RoboBo was only missing two letters until it became Robot Boy. The effort, after all, was futile.

What a waste of time, right?
