Mikes verses are fucking awesome. A nice little fire cracker song. At first I didn't really like it, but after 15 or so listens it's catchy. Could have ended better though
How the hell are they gonna play this live? Chester's screams remind me of Condemned from Dead By Sunrise.
I don't think I'll like it less than Meteora but it reminds me of Meteora in that it feels like a step back from the previous album and the lyrics feel so vague that they feel bland. Lyrics aren't always LP's strong suit but it lacks a certain energy or authenticity.
A good song is a good song and this is just not good. The ending is pretty sweet and the chorus is cool but the music to the verses just doesn't sound good! It's not really a jam where your nodding your head but it's not slow either it's kind of just there. I really just wanna heara jam. Uptempo from start to finish that makes you nod your head. This doesn't even sound like a song! Sounds like something I could make in my room in ten minutes on my iPhone....that being said its one song, still can't Waite for the album!!!
Full review after listening to the track over ten times: This song is an explosive, glitched-up monster of a track. It's Linkin Park's shortest non-instrumental song to date and it packs a digital punch. Mike sounds pissed and powerful on this one as does Chester. The bridge calms the mood of the song with Chester calmly singing "you did it to yourself" over a fuzzy bed of keyboards before he starts screaming flipping this song into a chaotic fist-bumping firecracker. It's a grower, but when it grows on you, it makes you want to stand up and go bonkers. [8.5/10]
I was a bit disappointed with Burn it Down, but actually loved this one, its a nice fusion of old and new. It kinda has an genuineness and intensity that was pretty lacking in BID.
The first time I listened to this track, my first reaction was "What the heck am I listening to", then Mike started rapping in, which made it a lot better. Than the hook came in...well I thought it was decent when I first listened to it, but the ending of the track totally changed my mind about the whole thing. I listened around 5 more times, and I am actually starting to really enjoy it. All the descriptions from the sites were exactly right with this track, and to be honest, I wasn't dissapointed at all. Even after 5-6 listens, I started to actually sing to it..
lol its different. I think for the better but let me get back to you on that. The one thin I'm not liking is the stutter. That is really whats putting me on the fence
I am too. Writing this song probably took a few days. To bfoley: Now that you have the layout of the song and lyrics, it's very easy to make. Linkin Park however had to make the melodies, sounds, and write the song. They didn't have a blueprint and/or lyrics to work with.
I'm high right now. This sounds like ITE pt. 2. It sounds fucking weird man. Like, the grown man version of ITE after he started doing drugs and made this song. I get a feeling that this won't be my kind of album, because I don't have the kind of drugs to enjoy this shit right now. It's cool in a way tho, but TOTALLY weird man. 8.5 - It's be a 10 if the chorus was awesome
ATL at least has some sort of melody to it.... whereas this is just a bunch of noise stuck together devoid of soul it's LP's attempt at trying to be "different" but we all know that the best art comes from real emotion, suffering, etc this and burn it down sound so copy and pastey / mechanical (for lack of better words)
