Impressive sonically, not so much lyrically, but better than "Burn It Down." If "Wretches and Kings" cheated on "Blackout" with "Hit the Floor," it might sound something like this.
Gotta love how the song descriptions were on point. This definitely slaps 'Burn It Down' on the face. Digging the upbeat feel from the sound. Short, sweet, and the song is oozing the band's confidence and comfort-level in venturing outside of the "Linkin Park" box. The new album could not come any sooner.
It's great!!! And it gave me that "WTF" feel I have almost each time I listen to a new LP song. I mean...I wasn't expecting it at all to sound like this, but after a few listen, I gotta admit I love it!!!!! Only complain : the duration
Dude MIA and Linkin Park are awesome!!! I like how my favorite artists blend together. I can see that Linkin Park likes the same music as me, and anyone else!!!
I've got some mixed feelings, but the song gets better for me, the more I hear it. It reminds me a little bit of Wretches and Kings, because when I first heard it, I was like "What the Hell is this?!?!", but with the time I liked it more and more.
The only real problem I have with it is that it makes me hyperactive, I literally wanna jump up and down and scream the chorus from the top of my lungs. But when I play that track on my hi-fi, all hell's gonna break loose.
This. It might not be so bad if it wasn't so damn short. Definitely worried about the entire album now after the 2 songs we've heard.
If this is the most innovative of the six tracks HitFix heard... well that's just disappointing. Just like Burn it Down, I feel Lies Greed Misery would be better as an instrumental. The lyrics of the chorus are appalling, and the song had such a predictable structure. It sounds like a Reanimation mix of a Meteora song that didn't make the cut. The good thing though, is that it's short, so the other songs will be longer and hopefully more experimental, too.
I'm not a fan of it. I mean, I think the instrumental is interesting and it's very different for Linkin Park. However, I just think the lyrics are bad (with the exception of the 'breaking point' bit), and it really lacks creativity. Similarly to 'Burn It Down,' this song is another rehashing of everything they've done. I want something new, and while this has a taste, it's not what I was hoping for. Disappointed. And it's not growing on me either.
May as well put it here too.. I like everything but the last 26 seconds. The screams are nice, but they sound out of place.
I loved it, but the more I listen to it the more I grow tired of it. Missing some serious melodic parts. I think I actually prefer Burn it down, although I love Mikes parts.
