That was awful. I really hope nothing else on the album sounds anything close to that. KillSonik's remix was already pushing it, but that was was just plain terrible. I rather listen to Reliving Things or RostaSliwka's Living Things Remix Album
This will be the first Linkin Park album that I don't buy. Everything I've heard thus far (except for ALTNC) has been utterly terrible. I'll just wait for LP6.
I'm on the fence. Part of me just loves collecting all their stuff, and another part of me knows, given that we have half the album, how shitty it's going to be.
Have to be completely honest, I'm a big fan of EDM (especially Drum N' Bass) and this remix did nothing for me. I feel the Linkin Park fans could do better than this and already have. Still, I'm reserving judgement till I've heard the whole album.
Which is stupid 'cause you won't get a very consistent/coherent album. You'll have an album with a collection of remixes. You have to look at these individually. Listening to the album entirely, I think, won't change your opinion on these remixes at all.
I just wanna hear Mike's and Rubin's remixes. Mike said they were ''standout tracks'' and ''different'' so I'm interested.
Gross! Where's my Reanimation CD from a decade ago? This isn't music, this is different noises mashed together.
YouTube comment: "If you're one of those "Old Linkin Park" fans on this page, then surely you must remember Reanimation? You know, the remixed version of Hybrid Theory? Yeah. This is the exact same thing, except it's for Living Things."
Hilarious how ignorant and misinformed that person is. Reanimation was a collaborative project between Linkin Park and the collaborating artists that was treated like an actual studio album. The band wrote new parts and lyrics for the songs and some of the tracks despite all being "remixes" persay, are pretty much all new tracks. This album is just random remixes of tracks the band had on LIVING THINGS. Apart from the one new song (and it's remix) on this album, there's no new parts recorded by the band and I'm sure they didn't have nearly the amount of input on these tracks as they did with Reanimation. In short, this album is abso-freaking-lutely nothing like Reanimation. It can't even be described as the same kind of project.
bingo...its like...you know how some (mainly electronic artists (namely Autechre, Aphex Twin) pose remixes that seemingly have nothing to do with the main track in the former case I read a quote that said something along lines that said "using the source material and reshaping it until we are happy with it" and if it turns out you turn up with something barely resembling the former tracks...so be it. what I wanna say is: as derek aid it correctlyy it was handled as a studo album thus I say Recharged has remixes...Reanimation has Alternate Versions picture this: if recharged was released before living things (or LT wasn't released at all) there would be a major outcry...but Reanimation could as good stand in for a seperate entity
