Was randomly perusing LP music videos on YouTube yesterday when I came across this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNXs4xFTHRo As we all know, this is the Leave Out All the Rest music video, albeit with Spanish and English subtitles. However, anyone who knows the song well will realize the version of it playing in this video is not the one which appears on Minutes to Midnight. The version playing in this video is noticeably different in tone, sadder and almost darker sounding. The original video for comparison's sake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBTXNPZPfbE Is there more than one version of the song aside from the LPU demo?
I don't see where in the description it says fan made, aside from him claiming it's his video, which it clearly isn't because it's the same footage from the official music video. In any case, I'm inquiring as to why the song sounds different.
It didn't say it was a fan made video. It's not a fan made video. It also doesn't sound any different than the official version. It just has subtitles and the video is a little out of sync.
he said something abt...some of my videos..so i figured it myt be fan made..i shud hav seen d entire id b4 sayin anythin tough
I disagree. There's nothing different about the song structure or anything but the pitch seems a bit off to me. Anyone else?
Agreed. What I'm wondering is if it's some sort of alternate version that's floating around or if the poster somehow did it to the song file themself. I listened to it a couple times, and Chester's voice only sounds off a little towards the end. Otherwise, the vocals sound about right, but the instruments sound like they're in a different key.
It's not an official alternate version, I can assure you that. It's either something the poster or another fan did to the song (most likely), or a loss in quality due to compression (less likely).
LOL @ this being the second thread in like, a week, where people thought that they had found an alternate version of a song just because someone ran it through a damn pitch shifter (Figure.09 from SWAT being the other). Anybody else remember the fake version of Plaster that was floating around for a good 6-7 years before the real one showed up? I recall that being One Step closer pitch shifted down a step or so and recorded from someone's stereo speakers through a microphone. EDIT: HOLY KETCHUP GUYS, I FOUND A WAITING FOR THE END DEMO: http://www.zshare.net/audio/870564483d5ea093/
The only thing about this is that the pitch is a little off to offset the copyright bots on YouTube. That's why you also see it mirrored.
