I watched it last night, and I don't really know what to think.

The Roots are a great pick for his house band,
the whole time Justin Timberlake was on was great -
but the licking stuff for $10 and Robert DeNiro were just painful.

I'll give him a chance, since Conan and Craig Ferguson
    also had terrible premieres.

    What do you think?

It's going to take a while for him to find his niche, but once he does, I think the show will be great. Conan started off shaky as well, but he became one of the greats. I think the problem here is Jimmy's got a lot of expectations put on him since he's replacing Conan.

It was alright, I agree with Will about him finding his thing though.

I love Craig Ferguson, he always has the best musical guests and is the only late night person to make me laugh.

I don't think Jimmy Fallon has ever been funny, but I'll continue to give him a chance when he has an interesting guest/musical act on his show. The reunion between Fallon and Fey tonight should be good, but Bon Jovi should be a diaster, in my opinion.

I agree with the opinion that the Roots is an awesome choice for a house band. I only tuned in right before the "Lick It for $10", so here's a question: is Black Thought apart of the house band? I thought I caught a glimpse of him, but it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't. This does kind of leave the rumor out of the Roots being at Bonnaroo this year, which sucks. Unless Fallon does a "Live at Bonnaroo" one-night type deal.

Either way, he has huge shoes to fill, but then again, so does Conan. His first show on the Tonight Show could easily bomb as well, but he's perfected his craft to the point where I don't think it can fail. Fallon will struggle to find his niche (and a loyal audience) for awhile, I think.
