(10/3/03, 5 p.m. ET) -- Kid Rock has announced that the first single from his new, self titled album will be a cover of the Bad Company classic, "Feel Like Makin' Love." The tune should start popping up at radio stations around the country next week, while the rap-rock star's new album--the follow-up to 2001's Cocky--arrives in stores on November 11. Kid Rock gave "Feel Like Makin' Love" a live workout at a recent concert in Miami. The original, released in 1975 on Bad Company's second album, Straight Shooter, reached Number Three on the pop chart and also hauled in a Grammy Award. Kid Rock is nominated for two American Music Awards, for favorite male artist--pop or rock music and favorite album-pop or rock music for Cocky. The 31st annual awards ceremony airs live on ABC-TV on November 16. Kid Rock is newly single, having recently broken up with fiancee Pamela Anderson.
