Yea I was surprised at how good the performance was! Nice to hear Chester scream like that again, especially on that bridge Seems like they really put the effort in to maximize the experience for people, seeing as Chester tweeted that this will most likely never happen again.
I watched on NationalGeographic a laser therapy that cures vocal chords. They used it on the lead singer of a band (I don't remember his name) and it worked. So if LP can afford this, Chester's voice could be "fixed".
That's what I was most looking forward too. He did it in 2008, so I was hoping he'd do it at Download, as well.
Yeh man! Screw those fans who buy tickets and show up to shows and have the audacity to SING when their favourite band are playing. DON'T THEY KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET TRYING TO LISTEN??? Ahah, precisely!
Just got back from this, this was amazing! Download for those that don't know is a five day camping festival! And I can tell you that the band went down very very well. Everyone in the campsites and on the buses back saying they where amazing. Lots of old casual fans clearly just wanting and only really knowing Hybrid theory and Meteora stuff and maybe Given up, however they all stayed around for the whole set. Great stuff!
I'm just saying that it's annoying. When there's annoying, possibly drunk fucks screaming the lyrics while sounding like shit, it ruins it for the other people in the crowd trying to listen to the band. They went to hear the band sing, not some intoxicated fools "sing". If you want to sing at a concert that's fine, but it's another when you're screaming at the top of your lungs when you're right next to other people's ears. And yes, it sucks for me and the other people who wanted to listen to a decent recording of the band singing some Hybrid Theory songs we've haven't heard in a decade only for it to be ruined by others screaming the lyrics.
Forgive me for saying so, but rock concerts may simply not be for you. Buy The Hunting Party from linkinpark.com and get the live download. Sorry my friend, I’m going to back the ‘people who bought a ticket, went to the show, had the time of their life and showed it’ over the ‘people squinting at shaky camera phone recordings on YouTube and getting pissy about it’ anyday. There are many things that people may do in crowds that annoy me (surging in a dangerous manner, throwing items at others, drenching fellow crowd members with beer, fighting, general ignorance of crowd etiquette…). Singing along, no matter how bad they may be, is not high on that list. Indeed, when the band I produced played Download last year, we were eternally grateful for all who sang, regardless of how they sounded. I hope you get a copy of the Hybrid Theory set to enjoy, I really do. I just don't think it makes sense to sit here in front of our computers and bash those who actually attended a rock show and got a little loud.
