I saw a guy at a school assembly on Friday morning wearing a "The Ramones" shirt. I went up to him, pointed at his shirt, and said "It's too bad Johnny Ramone died, isn't it?". He looked at me like I had three heads and said "Who's that?". I just muttered "Poser" and walked away. It's the same thing for all these idiots in my school wearing Nirvana shirts. They couldn't care less about the band, just the "coolness" of wearing a Nirvana shrit. Oh, they're so hardcore! I'm not a Ramones fan, but my condolences to his family, friends and fans.
My friend cried when he heard about it. He was a big fan. Like Mark, i'm not too fond of them, but my condolences go out.
Yah thats pretty pathetic that the guy didn't know who Johnny Ramone was. Especially if he was wearing a shirt of the band. Anyhow I can't believe he passed away this totally caught me by surprise. I didn't even know he was suffering from prostate cancer. At least all his friends and important family members with with him in his last few hours of life.
Have you seen the Good Charlotte shirt that's a ripoff of The Ramone's symbol? I wanted to burn it, no freaking way they're on the same menu as The Ramones. RIP, Johnny. I'll be Howling at The Moon for ya.
I heard about that on the radio. That's really sad, how many original members left? R.I.P. Johnny Ramone
Yeah it is sad. The Ramones were probably one of the first bands I've heard. Ramones was probably the best album ever.
Punk and pop-punk bands rip each other off all the time--how about instead we get annoyed with the Dickies for ripping off the Ramones sound, instead of Good Charlotte just ripping off a logo?
