I don't generally recommend albums, since most aren't up to my standards, but this album is really great. From start to finish, very mid-tempo relaxed and lite music. The standout track is "Clarity" although there are some other great ones as well. The bluesy "Come Back To Bed", experimental "Home Life" and one of my favorites, "Split Screen Sadness". Don't dismiss this as pop until you've listened to it.
Yay! Another John Mayer fan! I was just listening to Heavier Things a little bit ago... he's a great artist, and I really like his work. He's going on tour this summer with Maroon 5, and I really want to go. That would be an awesome concert!
I love John Mayer. I have his Room For Squares album. I really want to own Heavier Things. I'll get around to buying it someday.
I'm not much of a John Mayer fan, but my Mom is so we have both his albums, and let me say "Bigger Then My Body" kicks so much ass.
I love the intro guitar in "Your Body Is A Wonderland" but when he starts singing, I start to get annoyed. No offence, but I tend to find his voice breathy and irretating. It's kind of disappointing because I like listening to the instruments but I have trouble because of the voice. Oh well.
He has the "Dave Matthews" vocal delivery. I don't love his sometimes breathy vocals but you can't deny his skills. When rappers want you on their tracks you have to be doing something right. He's one of my guilty pleasures.
I just heard 3x5 for the first time, it's great, although I wish the chorus stayed with the low notes like the verses and bridge. Still, he's a great artist. I really like 'Only Heart'. The intro drum loop is great along with the riffs. I had a video idea for that song. John dies during surgery and has his heart given to another woman in need. Get it, 'you got my only heart'?
That's actually a good idea... Have you heard the other songs from Room For Squares? My favorites off of it would have to be 'Neon,' 'Not Myself' and 'St. Patrick's Day.'

I love Dave Matthews Band's older stuff like Under The Table And Dreaming and Crash, but I'm really disappointed with Everyday and Busted Stuff...and I can't stand Dave Matthews' solo album. But anyway...I don't know. I have trouble listening to John Mayer...guess it's just my opinion. And what's this about a rapper wanting him on a track? Now I'm just curious
I haven't heard everything from Room For Squares, trying to savor each song since they're so great. A lot of people say he sounds like DMB...funny thing is I've always had an aversion to them. I think he's different, more catchy and better vocals. DMB is a constantly evolving band, they aren't really sure who they want to be musically. John however, knows who and does it 110%.
