This one's for you, Jay. Jay. In a moment so pleasant I can’t recall the taste, I remember that reason, I remember that face, In that moment that day, I lost everything and got it all, In that moment, I fell, but she broke my fall. For a moment was all she needed to fix me, And that moment concluded sorrows for me, Forgetting this world, I bathed myself In the hue of her eyes, I was saved from hell. I didn’t wait for that moment to end, And it went on I felt, I didn’t have to pretend, For that moment I could feel warmth back in my heart, Like that moment was longer than a million yards. And she didn’t even have to tell me why, She just knew that I would be alright, And she knew she couldn’t see my past, Or my future, but for that moment I was calmed at last. And that moment was divine, that moment she saved me, And that person is just enough I need to change me, And the innocence of her words held so much love, She knew I needed her, that moment wasn’t enough. In that lowered gaze is a sense of wisdom, In humility it lowers like the setting sun, You can find a childhood still waiting to live, Yet find that maturity, and it’s willing to give. In that raw beauty, is a sparkling grace, You can’t see it; you can’t feel its pace, In that timid tender body, is a free willed soul, And for that moment she gifted to me this, her whole. Thank you, Jay.
you know, i get very anxious to know what you'd comment. i think you are the best amateur poet i have ever read and your comment means a lot to me. thanks.
Thank you, you may also be my favourite amateur poet. I love how you seem to bend the English language to your will. Lines like "In a moment so pleasant I can’t recall the taste," defy the usual literal structure but still get across the point perfectly...something I have trouble doing, but you seem to be able to do with ease. Your compliment means a lot to me.
