*UPDATE* This show and tomorrows in Albany has been cancelled due to Chesters leg injury. Tickets will be refunded. More info over at LinkinPark.com We here at LPA wishes Chester the best and hopes for a speedy recovery. But I spent a lot of time writing this post, so please read it anyway Black and Yellow, Black and Yellow... As Linkin Park moves on with the tour to Pittsburgh, so do we! The band has performed here four times before, two times in 2000, once in 2001 and then they returned for one show in 2003.. and then nothing until now. With all these shows being performed before people kept good track of the shows we don't have much information about any of these, except for the the 2001 performance. The band was rocking a solid setlist back then, with eleven out of the twelve songs from Hybrid Theory being played(damn you, Cure For The Itch!), and then they also played And One and High Voltage just for good measure. We can only dream of them playing that many songs from a new album these days. Thankfully, people brought cameras to concerts even back in 2001 and someone was nice enough to record the whole show for us to enjoy 14 years later. Check out High Voltage below. So... as we all know, Chester has this unfortunate tendacy to get hurt. Quite often. Everything from poisonous spider bites, breaking his wrist during the show, smacking a hole in his lip with a tennis racket and dislocating a disc in his back, the man has done it all and probably a lot more. But this has to be a record for doing it the soonest on a tour... he broke his ankle. Before the third show on the tour... that is pretty damn impressive. We are not sure how this happened, but this quote comes from LPA member Broman: Wow. We feel your pain Chester. As for the show itself, it went off pretty well. Guests on this show included Aaron Pauley on the Iridescent section of the Ballad Medley, Austin Carlile on Faint and Tim McIllrath on Bleed It Out. Check out One Step Closer here below. "Cause I'm about to break" another body part? Isn't your ankle enough? [thumb]http://www.lpassociation.com/upload/images/011515-004449_THPtb.png[/thumb] Oh hey, look, there's an elephant in the room! Let's talk about it. The band has currently played two setlists, this tour versions of Set A and Set B, both of them have a certain problem with them.. the lack of songs from The Hunting Party. Rebellion and Until It's Gone have been dropped from both setlists, and that new song that the band was teasing in this Instagram post has not shown up in either of the setlists. The band has switched up setlists in the middle of tours before, which we can hope for with this situation. Or maybe they will bring out a Set C with the dropped songs and the new one. We have plenty of dates left on this tour that the band can surprise us on. Wait and see. Are you going to the show? Well... In an initiative to connect the fans of Linkin Park, we here on LPA made a meet up schedule, so if you want to meet some fellow LPA users before the show, the page for all the information and names of who are attending the show is right here. So make it known that you are attending the show, so you can meet some other awesome fans. Remember to tweet pictures to @LPAssociation if you meet some other members. After this the band moves on to Albany on the 21st and then they head to Atlantic City on the 23rd. Are you going to this show? Are you looking forward to the tour? What do you think the new song will be that they play? Come and discuss in our forums. Speedy recovery Chester. But damn!! Finally was in a position to see the band after winning tickets...*sigh*
You guys are pretty mature. If they canceled my show, I'd be ripping out other people's eyeballs right now.
I know how tough Chester is and how dedicated they are to putting on their shows. Having that in mind really helps to dissolve the disappointment because it shows how much pain he really must be in. With that being said, I really wish they could reschedule.
