iTunes Australia has now uploaded 90 second preview clips of every track from Stone Temple Pilots w/ Chester Bennington's upcoming EP High Rise. To listen to the previews you must have the latest version of iTunes and must first change your country and region under your account settings to "Australia". After changing your country, search for the EP and hover your mouse over the numbers in the track list, a circular play button will appear that will allow you to preview the tracks. You can also listen to the tracks on the AU iTunes webpage here. For those who can't access iTunes, listen to the snippets on YouTube below. Don't you think I would've confirmed myself first before I posted this? Thank you for verifying though.
Out of Time sounds really good in the context of these songs. 10/10, would listen to again if i had the chance.
How is Same On The Inside not the second single? That sounded fucking amazing, probably one of Chester's best vocal performances ever IMO.
Having the same problem listening to them in the US.. EDIT: Nvm, just changed my store to Australia. Really great clips. I CANNOT WAIT for this EP. Same On The Inside sounds like a really great, meaningful song. Cry, Cry sounds amazing as well, I love the vocals!!!
Just further proves my theory that they do not nearly explore Chester's range in Linkin Park which is a shame. He has so many other facets to his voice but you don't really hear them except for his other bands. This needs to change IMO.
I agree, and not trying to sound like a MTM fanboy again, but they did use some of his range on MTM more than the other LP albums. I would love for them to do that again but maybe take it further. I think maybe if they had Chester sing verses as well as choruses, it would be different. That is where you can really see a singer's range. With Mike always doing the verses, you can't achieve that, they just use Chester for the big choruses.
You sort of have a point but.. How is exactly Mike always in the verses? I agree that for example LT doesn't have Chester majority in terms of verses but we have 4 songs with Chester, 3 with Mike rapping, 3 with Mike singing and 1 with both (singing and rap, Victimized). I think that singing time is cut a bit in order to bring variety in vocal styles for the songs but I do think it wouldn't be a bad idea to make Chester showcase more his range in Linkin Park songs. With that said I'm gonna listen to the previews now.
I'm going to try and not listen to the previews. We've already been given a good amount from the EP; I want something to feel new.

sounds good. Too bad everything says "With Chester Bennington" on it. Makes it all feel so temporary.
They legally had to do that while they're in court with Scott. They may have the chance soon to completely own the STP name but for now they have to tread lightly legally.
Okay, this may not be "the real STP" anymore, but who cares... Chester sounds awesome. 'Same On The Inside' is my favorite song so far. Btw, these new songs truly remind me of Dead By Sunrise...
