This is another set of lyrics that has naff all to do with falling for a girl, or liking a girl, or anything to do with a girl I know. It's very much in the same league as "Torching Or Torture?" as far as themes go but make up your own mind on it. Hope you like 'em. "It Seems I Have A Spark" Steadily, The sound of the crowd around me, Diminishes into dust, And the feelings I once felt have, once and for all, given up, The silence is deafening, to repeat a cliche we've all grown sick of by now, Until the light opens up and the sound is released and the attack-like barrage has begun. The single gunshot sounds and the end of the world begins, A cataclysmic end to the century. Steadily, The urgency of the crowd is brought to light, And brought to life, The smell of the petrol; we're loving the fumes, They take away regret for what we're about to do, They're fighting a battle they can't help but lose, Their guns and their shields will not stop us now, We've instilled the fear and soon they will avow, How right we were, to start this all, How right we were, all along. The single gunshot echoes across the land, (We fought for this, we fought for this) A single white flag raised by their commander marks the end, for them. An explosion shatters the scene as if to say: ("When the white flag is flown, we must carry on") The fire is lining the streets burning away, Every stupid choice they made.
I quite like it, but there's just two things that seem weird to me. "Their guns and their shields" seems a weird combination to me because I associate a shield with melee combat. I know it's probably a metaphor but you know... The second thing, "A single white flag..." it sounds a little weird to me there right after "The single gunshot...". I'm sure you can come up with something to avoid that, if you agree with me of course. Hope this is at least a little helpful.
