    Mike would like YOU to remix the newly released Linkin Park instrumental "Issho Ni", which is featured on the Download to Donate: Japan album. The best remixes will be featured on Mike's blog!


    From Mike's blog:

    This is “Issho Ni,” the Linkin Park song we contributed to www.downloadtodonate.org. There were a lot of positive comments (thanks), and I also saw some of you were saying: 1.) you thought it should have been arranged in a different way, because you wanted more “action” earlier in the song, and 2.) you thought there should have been vocals.

    I’ll tell you what: you guys edit it, add vocals, sample it, do whatever you like–I’ll let you finish the song. The vocals don’t have to be about Japan, they can be about whatever. Sing, rap, rearrange, remix, write new material, whatever….and I’ll post the best versions I hear up here on www.mikeshinoda.com.

    Meh.

    I'd rather he just took the criticism and just move one.

    Though, I guess this doesn't hurt anyone. So I'm indifferent. Hell, I might give it a shot, haha.

    It does not sound like there are formal winners or prizes (or there'd be a deadline and a lawyer written "Official Rules"). This is clearly not a contest, just something for fun.

    Mike certainly sounds a bit pissed...:lol: Oh well, I'll enjoy laughing at most of the remixes and comparing them to the original.

    Personally, I would be more excited to make a remix of Issho Ni had this been announced under different circumstances. It's a little awkward. :lol:

    Eh, we'll see. I didn't particularly like his remix of The Catalyst. No disrespect to him though.

    If (and this is a big if) Mike was pissed when he wrote that, and he isn't actually doing this just for fun...it's likely because a lot of people have been extremely selfish in their comments regarding this song. Few people accept the fact that this was done IN A WEEK for charity and instead throw rude comments around, talking shit, calling the band lazy and saying that they could do this in 5 minutes; thus missing the point of the track in the first place (to benefit Japan).

    So provided that Mike did put this contest together because he was pissed, well then...I say good for him. This band, more so than any other band I follow, takes such heat and such flack for some of the things they do and it's ridiculous. They're human beings. Not robots that can just spit out hits like it's nobody's business. To all the people who called the band lazy for this instrumental...make your own instrumental in less than a week like Mike did and let's see if you could make something better. If you can't, then stop calling them lazy for giving something out of the good of their hearts.

    Good for you for doing this Mike. I support you.
