I want to update the software from my iPod Touch. However, it always says that my iPod contains material that I didn't buy and that I should first put those things on iTunes. How do I do that? I don't have the original files anymore so is there a way I can just copy them directly from my iPod and paste them into iTunes?
That doesn't make sense. If you're attempting to update your iOS firmware there should be no issue with the content on or off your iDevice.
I was thinking the same thing! It's probably the first time I've seen this notice! I guess I'll just have to see and hope that the aftermath isn't catastrophical, I lost my music once during an update and it sucked big time x) EDIT: Phew, that turned out okay. This thread can be closed
This might help in the future. You can export all of your music to your computer, and it works pretty well. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/song-exporter-pro/id421646421?mt=8
After connecting your iDevice to iTunes, right click on the device on the sidebar and click "Transfer purchases". This way, anything you've purchased will be transferred onto the desktop.
