Yo Guys!, this is just an idea i was thinkin a couple days ago.... you kno the fact where ppl keep downloading music instead of buying the cds... well u kno why ppl download! its because 2 put it on their mp3 player or computer! and instead of the cd! why dont they record all their songs on this little device that supports mp3s?? And then u go buy it its like buyin an album! so u buy that little device and u plug it into u computer (threw usb) and then it transfers all the songs onto ur computer or mp3 player?? it'll cost around 15 $$ CND but u kno its an idea?? wut u guys think??
It would cost too much to produce little amounts of flash memory that hold simply a cd on them, which would make prices HIGHER. Besides, most programs that come with MP3 players have cd ripping utilities, and if they don't there's a whack of them floating around the net.
yea but this way! instead of buying the cd! u buy this little flash player that u plug into ur computer?!?! i find its alot easier! i think less people will stop complaning about ppl burning cds! oh! and wut do u mean theyres already sumthing inveted! if u find it post the link!
But right now, the companies are trying to prevent you from doing that. Their current opinion is we don't want you to rip our CD to your computer, not the other way around, like you're thinking.
I don't get that, it's stupid, we bought the cd, they ve got their money, we should be able to do whatever the hell we want with them. and on topic, that usb flash memory thing in cd's is just the same as ripping a cd, now if we went dircet from flash memory thing to mp3 player, no computer inbetween, then we may have an idea. But this would mean u need a universal port on all mp3 players. Unless you just get apple to join up with music companies and therefore to do this, everyone would have to buy ipods, only strengthening their grip on the mp3 market.
But it would cost SO MUCH MORE to produce flash memory for limited purpose, it would make it more expensive than buying a CD and it would fail inevitably.

[/b][/quote] Sure, you bought their CD. Now, they don't want it being your fault that their CD is on a torrent/p2p site, do they now? How do they know if you'll redistribute it or not? And like Neil said, the mini, or shall we say Nano™, mp3 player would just jack up the prices because for CD's, the production costs are only for the paper, case and CD; but for the player, you have to play for the technology, if you know what I mean. I mean look at the price of mp3 players other there right now...

Really overall, there arn't enough benefits in this idea to compensate for the price.

These 'mp3 players' will only last shortly, and they're easy to lose. I mean look at the iPod™ Nano™ right now, it's so easy to scratch, it's not even funny. :wth:
It's called iTunes and Napster. If you easily want to legally purchase music that can go on your portable player, you use iTunes or Napster. All from the comfort of your own home.
