Thoughts? Personally, I think the Islamic fundamentalists are just continually shooting themselves in the foot by getting so worked up over everything that portrays them in a negative manner. If they'd just let things go, people wouldn't be so inclined to believe that "they're all a bunch of crazy terrorists" or whatever. I know better than that, but they really aren't doing anything to help their image...blocking the most popular site on the Internet over one person's political video is bad publicity no matter what the logic behind it is.

Also, lol @ them calling Youtube a "file-sharing site."

Yeah. They aren't really doing themselves any favours and it's a shame that other people of the religion have to put up with it.

Geert Wilders is an arse though. It's pretty rich that he compares Islam to fascism when you consider some of the things he's said about muslims in Europe.

That's a shame. You'd think they'd learn by now that they're the ones painting the negative pictures of Islam.

    Edit:
I'm talking about Islamic fundamentalists and extremists, by the way. Not Indonesia.

I have no idea why everyone is getting so worked up by this movie. It's basically pictures and clips we already know, glued together. Sure, they feel insulted and blahblah, why can't they just ignore the whole movie? And besides, it's fucking ridiculous that every muslim country is boycotting dutch products now, because of one man's opinion.

They're really being hypocrites when you think about it. They're trying to stop people from denouncing their religion and thinking that they're all violent, extreme people and whatnot, yet they're boycotting an entire country over the thoughts of one person. Creating stereotypes by trying to eliminate stereotypes.

    Yep.

It's because I keep thinking that not ALL muslims are hypocrite like that, or else I'd be a big racist by now. They're basically asking for it. I have nothing against a muliticultural country, but it IS taking over, and normally that shouldn't be a bad thing if they would keep it to themselves, but they're not, at least not in Holland. There are so many things I can get angry over, like how the dutch government is actually scared of the Islam and ignores all other people's opinions, and how they do everything to prevent what just happened, Islamitic countries getting angry. There's a big chance that Geert Wilders will be the next president of Holland because everyone is sick and tired of this shitty government we have now. And you must all think I'm insane here, but even that will be better than what there is now.

Muslims (not all, course) have the most assbackwards logic: When a video/image/etc potrays them as violent, what do they do? Act violently.

If they wanna ban Youtube, good for them. But it's not going to do much good. There's hundreds of thousands of ways to get this stuff out there, so it's going to happen no matter what.

Oh, and WTF @ the file-sharing thing.

it is ridiculous, though, the whole film is made of things that everyone has seen before.

Pat Condell is one of the most intelligent people I've ever seen when it comes to all the inherent problems with various religions. Some people love him, some hate him, but I dare any of them to try to say that he doesn't make good points.

I love him, but...I guess I already made that point. :p

I agree, I love his stuff too (hence linking to it). I guess as it consistent with the New Atheism movement, he doesn't tiptoe around the issues but takes them head on.
