    I hope not lol, or we'll have folks going ape-sh*t over how 'hip-hop' Robot Boy is going to come off as; and so on. :p

    This!!!
    So there are some people who's share the same thoughts as me. I absolutely agree to you. The very first studio update we received from Mike said that they were inspired. Inspired to do something. Inspired to fill up a void. This may be the best Lp album till the date!!!
    N maybe there is a reason behind press trying to hype things in their descriptions. Well m referring to the 'avant metal jigsaw riff':p

    I agree. The solo isn't too tough for me but without the right effects it just doesn't sound right. Sounds like some kind of wah/auto filter with maybe a fast rotary/Leslie effect. The rap section has some crazy palm mute patterns! And I like that Brad doesn't use the standard drop d power chords. That odd E chord after the intro is great!

    True. Once you get more into the technical aspect of GATS guitars, you can actually see there's is some experimentation there, especially in regard to the solo. It seems like the pedal combination used for it is not something you would come up after 2 minutes, it's something you would come up to after a more or less long time of searching for a particular sound.

    Sometimes, people tend to think "Hey, it's only guitars + drums + bass, any rock band can do this". That's underestimating the creativity of searching after the right approach, the right mood, the right structures, and the right effects for a track.

    The only thing that bugs me with this cycle is lack of news. We got Guilty All the Same, album title, release date, and album art, and a few other song titles, but that's it. This album should be coming out in May for where we are right now.

    ^ Well, at the very least, I'd bet we will get that second new song within the 30 next days. The tracklist should be coming soon too.

    30. =.=
    Might as well just wait for 58 days.

    But Chester did say that this album cycle would different, and that they're hoping to release more music before the album comes out. So I'm guessing we'll have two more songs by the end of May. I hope.

    I'm hoping they release one before the end of the month. I remember with A Thousand Suns we got almost half the record before it's official release date through their MySpace.

    LT had the best album cycle in my meaningless opinion. The hype and build up was great, the scavenger hunt and all that. Joe getting Lies Greed Misery from Mike. It was the most fun cycle for me.

    I think everybody can agree with that, I do. Even A Thousand Suns was good with the cryptic messages and notes and all that good shit. Problem here is I think everyone expected the same with this cycle, but they had to do something different. While all of the hype is great and all the special activities are fun, I did not want to do all of that shit again. This time it's more simple and to the point, but I just feel the timing is off. Either they released Guilty All the Same too soon or the gap between single and album is too long. Either way, we are going to need a new song by the end of April or sometime in may to hold us over.

    I might try. I have some theories on which effects were used. Sounds like some boutique stompboxes though.

    LP's timing is great, they are just respecting how today's music is released. All current/popular music acts release a first song or single many months in advance of the actual album to build interest or "hype", it's just good business because that is the trend. The new album may indeed be very different for LP and visceral but that doesn't mean Warner Bros or LP themselves were going to completely ignore how most current music is released, therefore getting the song in early March and likely another in May then the album in June is entirely routine by modern recording industry standards.

    I wasn't around for the HT hype (I became a hardcore LP fan in 2003) but I was around for the Meteora hype, the MTM hype, the ATS hype & the LT hype. The LT hype WAS awesome. I loved it. Probably the best out of all of them for me.

    For some reason I get the feeling (hope) the second song will be released live at KFMA day on May 24th. The timing is perfect (around a month away from the release of the album) and you release it live first... It's probably just me dreaming since I have tickets :p
