The site got hacked. Hence why postcounts have dropped and topics are gone.

Since you posted this more than once, I'll delete the other topics.

We can, but you do realize we have a ton of members who will want their post count restored and I don't have the time to sit here and honor those requests. Post count isn't everything, deal with the loss. After all time time wasted getting the site restored, we lost a lot more than you did.

Hey Todd, do you guys know who hacked us?

By the way, that was probably one of the worst hacks I've seen. They didn't even do shit.

They managed to de-admin Derek, Mark and Omar, I believe. And rearrange the forums.

Paul: I have an IP and an ISP. Not a member on the forums and I'm not stating the hacking group who claimed responsibility because they don't deserve the fame. But trust me when I say it was the dumbest name one could think of for a hacking group.

Casey: Yep. And they changed my password and did all the damage with my account. Assholes.

The Outsider: Fixed now, that error message was my fault

It was your basic hack, but the one thing that stood out to me was the posting in anything was that image. Too bad the fucks couldn't make us post the image right.

The hack was pretty unoriginal, but thoroughly annoying. It was painful to post something and see 1,685,967 lines of IMG tags and LP slashing. They pretty much got into everything though. PMs and posts.

From what I saw the following damage was done:
    - all staff/admins demoted
    - all new posts somehow prefixed every words with some quote
    - Derek's [didn't notice if other admins had this] member title changed to '0wn3d by {idiotic group name here}' and his sig was changed to img, although they fucked up the coding.
    - all categories were removed so the all forums showed up on the front [so there's no subforums].

Not sure what else though. I can image they probably used a SQL injection exploit.

But I think what really happened, they did make an account, exploited the forum [I know of an exploit they could have done] gaining admin access, demoted all staff/admin members, did their damage, and then deleted any traces of their account.

I'm probably the one one who severely lost posts this time, unless there was someone who managed to lose over 100 posts.

But what would a link help? oO

    Restore the missing files.

Do you think you were especially targeted cos what i've seen you've lost the most..?

I've lost less than you, 20-50 posts i've lost.

How would I be especially targeted? How would they know that I post the most frequently here?

If they were targetting me, they would attack my forums. ;)

i dunno. i just assumed it on the grounds that i did read somewhere that they did create the account and they left their mark here.
so they've must've been here a while not posted anything and just looked onto the boards activities.

They could have easily created an account a few hours ago, done the exploit, gaining access to the ACP, done their damage, deleted all traces of their account and left. Quite easy to do.

im talking to LPF and they've been hacked like this in the past. Clogz lost about 400 posts and accounts were stolen..big! so i assume copy cats, but i also think that they intended to do more damage but i think Derek must have came on and screwed up their activities.

This is the link that i think would help but not sure

Tomi. They didn't create a new account, they somehow got into the ACP, demoted everyone besides me, changed my pass and did the damage with my account. My password wasn't particularly easy to guess, but I changed it anyways. I used my university's password guidelines for the new one, so it's even more difficult to guess.
