Hi! I used to post here wayyyyyyy back and have no idea what my log in name or password was, but I am back.

Anyways, I wanted some info on the Hybrid Theory Special Edition cd. Was this a US release? I was browsing ebay and came across it and hadn't heard of it before. Is it legit?

    Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl..._trksid=p3984.cSELL.m315.lVI#ebayphotohosting

see, it looks like it's in a box instead of the plastic case. Info plz and thanks!

ooh wow that has some cool stuff in it. even the LPU 2.0 CD? anyways, yeah I've seen this before. That's the version that had My December and High Voltage (a different version than the Hybrid Theory EP and Reanimation one) on it. The amazon page says its an import, and the wiki article on Hybrid Theory just says "bonus disc". Maybe it was Japan only?

edit: wow, look at the review by x_ation. that's probably what people who don't like Linkin Park think most fans are like.

2nd edit: hah I was looking at that auction and I saw on the right a Linkin Park guide to identifying Bootlegs. after reading it I looked at the user who wrote it: Astat2006. good job on that buddy! Underground v2.5, you gotta be kidding me, that's just ridiculous. lol @ the Ukraine only release. unfortunately, like 5 or 6 moneys ago, I bought a (what I know realize is) fake copy of the LPU re-issue of the Hybrid Theory EP. I asked another guy who also bought it and how he knew it was fake. he said the letters on the track listing on the back are white on the legitimate copy, mine were orange-ish, the same color as the sky.

The Special Edition was released in several Asian countries, but it's pretty common to see it in US stores as an import.

So would that $30 be good for those items?

I bought mine a couple years ago at Best Buy. You can most likely buy it online somewhere, like Amazon. It's not that rare.

I got my hands on the Special Edition of Hybrid Theory from a friend once and I was reading through the lyrics in the booklet and the lyrics for Crawling amused me. Instead of it being "these wounds, they will not heal" it was "consuming all I feel". Anyone know why? :p And do other people with the Special Edition have these lyrics in their booklets?

Edit: I just checked out the lyrics on linkinpark.com and it is also "consuming all I feel". What's going on? :D

It's like that in the booklet of every copy of Hybrid Theory. Lyrical mistakes in album booklets are one of the most common things in music (there are mistakes in the booklets of Meteora and Minutes to Midnight as well).

Oh, alright. Thanks :p I had no idea. What kind of mistakes are in Meteora and Minutes to Midnight? Why are mistakes like this made though?

Generally, the mistakes are caused when the band decide to alter the lyrics to the songs after the information to be printed in the booklet has been sent off.

Edit: I got my copy of the special edition from CD-WOW.com. Cost me about the same price as I'd paid for the normal copy as well.

^Yeah, usually when a band submits lyrics for a booklet, it's from whatever the most recent printed lyrics they've made themselves are. Often times a vocalist will ad lib or change a line during recording, but the lyric sheet never reflects it because they never print out an updated copy.

*Edit* Here's a couple of lyrical mistakes from the MTM booklet:

Given Up: "I've given up/I'm sick of living" (real line says "feeling")
No More Sorrow: "Your campagin's a disguise" (real line says "crusade")
TLTGYA: "The levies are breaking" ("levees" is spelled incorrectly)

I can't think of any from Meteora off the top of my head, but I seem to recall there being a couple.

Another notable one I can think of is the printed lyrics for Remember the Name by Fort Minor, the last 2 lines of Tak's first verse are completely different in the booklet from what is actually said.

Instead of printing the booklets so early, they should wait and get it right! :D

I think I prefer the sung lyrics to the booklet lyrics :p Would be nice if they printed booklets after recording though.

We got the HT SE in Australia aswell. I have in and on a section of the lyrics they made a mistake in printing booklet. They don't exist because of a black layer of smudge is on top of them. It is just 2 CDs in a case with a cardboard cover. The live recordings are from BBC Radio 1 from a show, although the recordings on LIT are better quality. It was only approximately $8 (AUD) more, ($28) or something similar. I've heard it being called the Singapore version or Japan, or Asia, but multiple countries got it so I suppose it's better to just call it HT SE. Hope that helps. Oh and it's legitimate, or at least mine is. :)

My Hybrid Theory SE comes in a plastic case and it doesn't say 'Special Edition' on the front. Is mine legit? Or is it just missing the cardboard cover thing?
