Fans who pre-ordered Linkin Park's "The Hunting Party" from linkinpark.com were treated to a surprise in late June earlier this year: an email announcing that they would receive a live recording of Linkin Park's June 14 performance of their seminal debut album "Hybrid Theory" at the UK's Download Festival 2014, straight from the band! Now, almost two months on, the live tracks have finally become available. Fans can expect to have received emails providing them with redemption codes which they can use to receive the "Hybrid Theory - Live at Download Festival 2014" digital album. In addition to high-quality MP3s, fans are also getting a FLAC edition of the live album. And, finally, a free download of "The Hunting Party" in FLAC format is also available. What do you think of "Hybrid Theory - Live at Download Festival 2014"? Let us know on our message board!
I asked Lorenzo recently about updates for it and he had told me "not yet". Glad it's up now just in time!!
I was on the front row at Download. It was the best gig I have ever been to, and I don't use that term lightly. It was emotional, spiritual almost. It was perfect, and I doubt LP will ever top that live performance - because they killed it, and were having as much fun as the fans (which is not the case most times). I really want to hear this live album, I hope they put it on Spotify or something. It was amazing. You can probably hear me singing on In The End because Mike's mic was right in front of my face for it. For those of you who weren't at the gig, listen and enjoy. For those, like me, who were at the gig, reliving this will be an absolute pleasure.
Wait. I'm trying to redeem the code of the thing, I did it and I got an "order confirmation" number, but I don't see where is the like where I actually download the file.
Lorenzo and Adam are here in LPA and on Twitter. @lorenzoerr (also his username) and @heydudeimadam (I forgot his LPA username lol)
No email yet, but my mails always end up being 2 days later then the actual time you should get the email! dying to download this download live
Listening now My review: Papercut - Nice, but my fav is still the 2010 Madrid one. The mixing is nice, you can actually here the scratches during "The suuuun", usually I can't hear that in live broadcasts. Also love when Chester screams "IT'S LIKE I" near the end. Seamless transition with One Step Closer is beautiful. The vocals sound slightly quieter than I'm used to with the DSPs, but it still sounds fine. Not the strongest "Shutup!"s Chester's ever done. I'm really glad they played the extended outro for OSC. So far the tracks blend together, that's awesome. Glad they didn't trim out the little seconds of the crowd in between. C'MOOOOOON before with you!!!!! Chester lets the crowd sing the With You bridge. Chester sings "Yoooouuuuuuuuuuuu" with that really raspy harsh sound like on the album which is awesome. The outro is extended by a few seconds. Mike got really aggressive at the beginning of POA lol. POA sounds a lot better than some performances I heard on DSPs from LT days. I like that you can hear the crowd on "My life my pride is broken", but it's not obnoxiously loud like on some of the DSPs. POA has about 30 seconds at the end of Mike talking to the crowd about old HT days, and giving a shoutout to aspiring musicians in the crowd. Crawling sounds pretty good. Mike didn't whisper "Distracting...my own reflection...it's haunting" The ending vocals aren't as good as they used to be.. Chester's screams on Runaway are awesome. I wish he screamed the last "and open up my mind though". BY MYSELF I love Chester's random screaming at the beginning of this, and his whispers during the verses. Mike messed up the beginning of the second verse though. I really like Mike's delivery of the bridge. By Myself is my fav track so far for sure. In the End, we all know how this goes lol. Crowd singing the bridge is awesome. I like how Mike says "we're gonna show you how we used to do it back in the day" with APFMH, when they opened with that during half the LT cycle lol. STEP ON PEOPLE LIKE YOU DOOOO I'll listen to the rest later lol.
